Was not their first gaming headset. They had the ATH-AG1's and the AG1X's. They had open and closed back version of these.
I wish they made an XLR & .25 version
After a year, i hate them! Worse than my hyper revolver by far!
@podcastage You forgot to add 0:00 to your description which is preventing scrubbing markers. Thanks for the video, it was great!
bose headset review plis?
I don't believe you've done this already, but take a look at the ATH-ADG1X. They were just over $200 when I tried them last year. Very good sound, not bass heavy. Reminded me a lot of my ATH-AD700, which, to me and many others, had a great neutral sound that was fantastic for a nice, open sound stage while gaming. Also super comfortable. Several people told me the mic on the ATH-ADG1X sounded incredible. It still has the non-swappable cable though... for some reason...
Still, ended up not keeping it and opted for a better pair of headphones and getting a desk mic. Too bad I bought a Snowball.... Absolute garbage.
I hate this mic, it always falls out of the headset
So how is the bass on those compared to the Sony WH-XB900N?
its not the first they have made at least 2 before
The Dude! Awesome review. Thanks
Dude you have like the best reviews for this stuff tbh
hah best review ever just what i was looking for.
I think the ATH PG1 has a better mic or similar.
How does this headset's microphone compare to the vmoda BoomPro microphone?
8 seconds in, the mic already sounds like ass.
thanks so much for the nice review!
i was about to ask for the comparison with the M50x, but yeah u did that already!
big fan of audio technica, love the IM02 (for the sweetest female vocal) and the M50x for some nice beats... was thinking if i should get this one but i'll pass and stick with the M50x while gaming (creative X-Fi platinum sound card)
this or the hyperx alpha? please help ty
Would these or the m50x be better than my Logitech g pro x's for stuff like asmr, movies, gaming, and music?
I heard the mic on the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 gen2 is the best on gaming headsets :D
Wanna win one? Head to the community tab to find out how ;)
How does this compared to the Steelseries Arctis Pro in terms of sound and comfort?
Great vid! Needed new headphones after the switch from ps4 to Xbox series x. Ordered these a day ago after watching this and reading more about audio technica vs other gaming headphones. Also got dolby atmos. Interesting to see how they pair to atmos. Thx!
Hey Techne, new subscriber here!
Just bought the AT ATH G1 and SoundblasterX G6 combo after your review. They replaced my trusted turtlebeach elite 800 which lasted me 8 years...
Its an absolutely jaw dropping combo. Battlefield 5 audio now melts my brain. Thanks so much for your video work. You come across as a really genuine, down to earth and passionate guy. All the best for 2021 from the UK.
I have been using the Corsair void rgb pro’s and I’ve been looking for an upgrade and I think these might do
Do a comparison between, Stealseries Arctis 7 and the Hyper X Cloud Alpha S
I've watched this review like 10 times lol and finally made the decision to order this combo. I hope it's worth it, and thank you love your reviews.
So it’s been over a year now since this review, do you still prefer this headset with the G6 than any other headset? I would like to continue using my G6. These ATH-G1 I am considering but I was just wondering if maybe you have a different opinion now than you did when you did this review which is quite some time now. Have you tried any other headset paired with the G6? If so I’d like to know your thoughts on them.
Great review by the way!
(I game specifically on PlayStation if that helps)
Are they better than hyperx and logitechs ? Anyone who used both .
Hey love your channel, can you please tell me if these are ps5 friendly
So which do you prefer now with this setup with the g6 or the ath-g1wl
Anyone having an issue with popping sound on the Xbox One X
Not sure if you'd see this. Elite Atlas Aero at $99(current discount) or reach for the ATH-G1?
Dang it @The Techne, I just ordered these yesterday and waiting for them to arrive today!! I can’t wait!! Now I have to convince my wife to let me get the amp 😂😂😂
I would use these for my Xbox!! Will Atmos or Sonic work on these?
Trading the annoyingly unbalanced sound of the g815 for this, hopefully it's worth it
Better than the elite atlas and razor Blackshark v2 on xbox 👀
How would you rate this against the arctis 5 on pc?
Bought them, for some reason they sound... Bad. (PC)
I was wondering if I had to change my sound settings, no clue how to do that.
Any chance you could show / describe your own settings for this thing to sound amazing?
Do they work on PS4?
Balanced? They have too much bass to be balanced.
0:57 *f un dailyp a y* is a secret how every single day I acquire 164
listening on M40X, feels good
Miss that intro music. Awesome how I was searching for some studio headphones and these came up. Def need to do a throw back video.
just got this in my reeks lol
I wish they still made the cool dark green/brown and blue/beige special editions
The colors are:
I just bought these this year for Christmas...and honestly this review is 6 years old but it's probably the reason why I bought them. As soon as I saw them your review popped in my head and honestly they sound pretty damn good.
Watching this cause im resisting from buying the XM4 😂
I just got a pair of purple ones ! and then searched for a review 😅 I’m so excited to take my mixing ears to the next level
Got the ATHM50xBT in 2020. I know how true this is..
can i connect this headphone directly to the cpu without any audio interference
*In India 10 dollar headphones are god-like*
Remember 3.5 mm jacks on phones?!? I remember...
this was filmed in his bedroom...
2020 in his own studio. this is what you call success.
Was gifted these for Christmas and so glad my family did their research. Because the cables were the primary concern since I'm usually pretty rough on my headphones and I'm glad you nailed that subject because cable ends are always first to go sour for me. Definitely a good purchase if you're low on cash but wanna splurge on what you find important being: Quality and durability, at an affordable price.
This review still slaps in 2020
I am adding this comment here to gather feedback and review on the audio technica ath m50x headphones. I have always used earphones and never headphones. I am planning to buy one but my small town does not have any store where i can go and try these. Even amazon deliveries take at least 4-5 weeks to deliver. Basically a countryside kind of place. So, it will take ages for the delivery and then return and reorder of a new one. Anyways, I read the reviews and they have been fantastic. I also watched several videos on youtube. But since everyone has a different definition of the words "good", "amazing", "fantastic", etc. I am not sure if i will like them equally or not. I am also not very much aware of technical terms like soundstage or sound colour, etc that people use to describe these headphones. Now the whole reason for writing this comment is just to enquire about the bass of these headphones. i want to know how good is the bass. To help you all guys answer the question so it is understandable to me, let me give some info about my likes and dislikes:
1. i really liked the earphones shipped with the age old sony ericsson walkman series phones like w550i. Their bass was what i liked and preferred to any other nokia earphone at that time.
2. I also liked the earphones that came with the sony ericsson p910i.
3. I liked the Sony MH EX300AP earphones that shipped with the sony xperia z smartphone from 2013. They are the best earphones I have listened to so far in terms of bass. The equalizer on the xperia Z made them sound even better. The bass was very nice and I was 100% satisfied with their bass.
4. I have used sennheiser hd 203 headphones too. They were the first headphones i ever listened too regularly. Actually a friend of mine and my flatmate/roommate few years back owned it and I used to borrow and listen on them. I really liked the bass on them too. I used them with my xperia z smartphone.
Now that you all know what is my definition of good bass, I request you you all to provide me your valuable feedback and thoughts on how good the bass on m50x will be. I have no doubt about its clarity and other aspects of sound reproduction. Just gathering info on the bass.
Absolutely do not buy these for serious mixing or mastering lol. I can't believe how bad they are. Boomy low-mids, no high-end details.
Will it work on the ps5
This guy need more visibility on YouTube. He's definitely got the talent for this kind of channel.
I got some of these and what I was most pleased with is how comfortable they are. To the point I would often knock them off when trying to scratch my head or something similar. I just forgot I had them on.
:D awesome battery life | really
awsome review, thanks mate
Best headset reviewer. No one else informs us on the volume of wireless headsets.
with my current corsair pro void i always have had (in all 5 replacement pairs) the batteries lost charge completely after 3 months as in not able to charge at all. this with normal 8 hour gaming sessions normal charging etc. how does this compare ?
Not a fan of the exposed cables looks unfinished that way definitely searching for sound quality and comfort as well as the option to use it wirelessly with my phone possibly at the same time like the arctis have but I don't like there ski goggle strap design tbh.
A = Audio
T = Technica
H = Headphone
G1 = Gaming #1
WL = Wireless
When the blue light blinks three times that means its in the ' surround ' mode. It took little digging in the manual for me to find that info.
Good review!...I’m a BASS! Head are the Bass really good?...
Can you make a video comparing This Technica vs The Virtuoso.
Had one before I returned it. As far as sound go, its got top notch sound. This is even more true playing a game with great sound engineering and employs Dolby Atmos well - play without 7.1 VSS in those instances. If game is old or has mediocre sound engineering, the 7.1 VSS is a slight improvement. The mic sounds good, the best I've had in a gaming headset. I sounded clear and not muffled or condensed like many other gaming headset mics.
I also liked that most of the buttons were on the ears and it was very clean design.
It quickly replaced my Sennheiser GSP 550, and Game Ones.
I returned because the wireless is hot garbage. It would clip in and out while I was sitting at my desk. Trouble shot it, putting other wireless devices on the other side of the apartment. Problem was I use a wireless Logitech mouse. This is not only related to these headphones, also happened on the GSP 670.
I returned for the wired version, but felt it was overpriced.
Now I use HD 660S with AT2035 XLR.
Woahhh audio technica and gaming is not a combo I was expecting
Curious, sorry if I missed it, what is your current gaming headset
Great review! Love the quality of your videos
large up Soldier
Would this work on Xbox or ps4
Get on Gears!
Good video SKB!
