Good for watching youtube or watching some neutral sound movies(no heavy bass). I wear these when I watch some YouTube but I switched to Razer Nari Ultimate when I watch some movies or listening to music.
How are they for pc gaming?
The ath-s50bt is better
Nice video 🔥 and thanks for the ear position tip!
Good job buddy, awesome video, got yourself a new sub
I agree. I have them and I love the sound. I know people keep bringing up ANC but they forget these are studio monitorss. ANC I've red can't say if it is true that it collors sound. The 1 thing I will nock myself is the lack of hi rez codex. APTX HD HWA LDAC and as they are just about to make new ones for a different collor hell if they can they should add the new what is it? LC3?
I noticed you mentioned that there was a slight delay when using the headphones in Bluetooth mode, is the delay small enough to not be an issue when using the headphones in Bluetooth mode while video editing?
Seems to be nice headphones but one question I really have is where I can find this really nice background music.
What headphones do you recommend if i want to spend a bit more money?
Supporting this channel because the video quality is amazing!
I just got these but I can not connect them to my phone or my mpc live help
is the sound quality different if you use the cable? Or is the Bluetooth as good as the cable version?
And is the latency realy noticable? I often play first person shooter and rpg´s but also want to mix music. But if the latency on Bluetooth is too high i have to rethink buying them.
Fantastic review! Keep this quality up and you'll build a loyal following. Seriously well done.
Holy cow the quality of your videos is awesome! Definitely an underrated channel keep it up
Awesome video. Can you comment on easy it is to swop BT connections between Zoom calls on Mac or PC and incoming phone call on a phone?
dt770/990s are much better in my opinion but if you can't afford them the m40x are even better than the m50xs
do they include a built-in mic? or the mic just work when the cable is plugged in? Thanks for being the only one to review the mic
I'm getting them!
Great video. I’ve got some m50xbt on the way.
how do you only have 47 subs... youre insane dude
Any one, where I can buy the earpads replacement? or it work with the other type pads replacements?
Need a BL over ear headphone with GOOD mic... Any recommendations?
Dam I didn’t think the mic would sound that crappy lol
good video, a question these or the sennheiser hd450bt?
Can the AT connect app allow turning off the touch panels? Can’t seems to find an answer on this.
*sony whxb900n or audiotechnica sr50bt????*
On sale for $120 get them nowww!!!
Does it really matter if these don't use USB-C's?
Which one would you recommend between this and the sennheiser 450 BT??
How is the sound in wired mode?
Hey! Just got my pair of SR50BTs, and when listening to a bunch of different audio tracks they sound almost muddy. Not much better (if at all) than the earbuds that came with my S10+. Any clue as to what it might be? I turned off all of the Android sound processing to get the most natural sound possible. They just sound flat and muddy, not even neutral. I wouldn't describe it as detailed nor clean, like many others have stated.
Why not an binaural ANC test over here? just the cold facts. not an opion has to be a guide.
WHERE DID YOU GET THIS APP?!?! I WANT IT!!
Controls on the left are perfect, my right hand is always busy with something.
Your reviews are always clearly structured. Thanks a lot. Definitely considering this one. If it was a choice between this one and the m50x-bt which would you choose?
shud i get the sr50bt or the m50xbt cos i love good bass but also the best sound quality
Stop talking about other headphones its annoys and confuse you. Just talk on ONE model. ONE MODEL
the cups look kinda smallish though.. why can't they make cups better ffs, the Senheiser 555's had the ultimate size ear cups
Microphone got awesome Noise cancelling, so much so that I cant hear your voice too
Is it better than m50x?
For practice guitar it's recommend, or any recommended there??
Stellar review/I don't know i got a big fuckin hed(sic)...
Can you use them to record and also mix?
Do I need amp for them?
Sir, how good is quality when connected to a laptop or mobile?
I've had these headphones for over 5 years now, just have to replace the ear muffs. These things are awesome for the price.
thanks for the honest review mate
When the reviewing the M50s you made very clear you felt a great lack of highs on them. On the M40s you say highs are great! Are they so different after all?
i bought this headset today and the reason i came to this video is to see what the coiled cable is used for because i was super confused but then i had another look and figured out that you can take off the first part of the plug and so you can use the coiled cable instead of that big ass cable that you would use
Just got my M40X today. The cable plug was hard to remove, the lock is weird, will take time to get used to it. It is strange why they made it only one side swivel in this, how much cost would that take? Yet if we wanna put them close to chest we can wear it reverse R to L side. It is amazing however the pleather cups are uncomfortable, Hopefully my ears get used to it and they become soft in time. I'd say if you can spend more money go for DT770 or 880 which is double the price of this. In India i got it for very low (7.5K Rupees) for discounts but we don't have this much discount for Beyerdynamic making it really double the price compared to this. You should write to Audio-Technica requesting them to improve the ear cups like Beyerdynamic, it will be worth it. I didn't buy the Beyerdynamic because of the price but also because I saw in reviews about the harsh sibilance in the highs, my ears are very sensitive, but I would buy them if i get the money for it. I saw no such complain about M40X in all the reviews, they are perfect for budget, studio professional work.
I have bought the m40x today, bloody hell this is a whole different world
These vs dt 770?
I think people might get the "proprietary mount" part wrong. yes it has this mount but there are many brands on amazon that make cable fro this headphone you don't have to buy from ATH
Im about to buy a pair of headphones for music production and amateur mixing/mastering and I have 3 options at the same price in my area:
Beyer dynamics DT990, Audio Technica ATH40X and the AKG 240 Studio, wich one would recomend for the task? It really matters if its open/closed back? I've already have closed back ones for recording, i just want the best sound quality for the money
where is the sound test?
Hello so I just bought it but only one side plays is there a reason why ?
Lately, I have been doing a lot of live stream interviews on Facebook Would you recommend these for this type of work? If not, what would you recommend?
Are they good for gaming?
Thanks for the review and the listening through the headphones, I do own a pair of M50x and the difference between the two seems really huge through the microphone, M60x sound really muffled compared to the 50x, I also do not understand why they stick with those god awful earcups, they are the most uncomfortable thing in the world, if you do get a pair, also grab some big earpads (try to get thin ones so the sound doesn't change too much)
thanks for the vid
The M60x are far better. On the M50x you can not easily distinguish all the sounds, while with the M60x you can hear everything in detail.
I like the M60 a lot more than the M50. I feel the M50 has a more typical consumer sound signature, a bit bloated and suited to modern pop tunes, this may explain their broad appeal. I feel like if I wanted I can get that same sound from many headphones and at a lower price. The M60 to me has a tighter, more detailed and refined sound. I also like that the M60 doesn't fold, when using headphones for field recording and for studio work folding can be a pain in the ass. They inevitably end up folding themselves from getting nudged and from taking them on an off. For fun I find pairing them with a Bluetooth mini DAC/amp like the Fiio BTR5 is superior to any wireless headphone on the market.
wow what an amazing review
When I realised that the m60x are so small...no thanks :)
All I care about is mixing and I can care less about casual listening. Which ones give a flatter response? From what I read online and from other videos the 60x is much better for mixing and mastering, if thats the case you guys should iterate that.
Great video with evidence¡¡¡ congratulations¡¡¡
Lol they hyping the m50 in all kinds of way cap! Cap!
So quick and informative. I’m late to this channel but this vid made an easy sub outta me. Thank you
Poor on the mids?
Damn. Well, I now know I'm not gonna buy any of these.
..... though, they're probably still better on the mids than the headphones I currently have.
Something is wrong with your testing. Mids are louder in m60s.
Love the thoroughness and detail in these reviews! Really gives me a good understanding of what I'm getting myself into.
M50x are really shit tho...
Owning both, I would say the following... Sound signature, headphone and sound are completely objective so take all videos and reviews with a pinch of salt, including this comment, but for me the higher fidelity headphones are the 60's, despite occasional bright signature with songs that are treble heavier. I hear more detail in the 60's, and soundstage are night and day between these two and that is a fact, but you won't go wrong with either for the price. Happy listening my audiophile freinds.
M50x are great until the clip breaks and you use a ghetto pin to stop if flopping off your ear :)
60X Too small and un-ergonomic shape. Major sensory issues for most not accustomed to on ear headphones. Good for small children ... also looks fragile. PS - The pads are shit and will disintegrate over a couple of years. My X50s still sound great and don't make me feel like climbing the walls like a set of 'on ears' do.
Can someone tell me the ear cups exact measure inside vertical/horizotntal ?
_Good sound quality🌟>__JustU.Faith/AudioEar?嬉__ I like to use them in commuting on the subway. Would like to pause the music without getting out my phone; a small button or switch on the cord would be good._
