ASUS X99-A Motherboard Unboxing & Overview
Installing Intel i7 5960x into ASUS X99-A USB 3.1 Motherboard
I found this video incredibly helpful! I didn't even realize some of the features my motherboard had - and now I am installing an M.2 SSD and I'm very excited. Thank you! The only comment I have (and it seems maybe others made it too) is that if you had a second camera you could splice in for the closeups of all the tiny things you are pointing to, that would be magical. But I still got the info as I just compared what you were saying to a high res image I found on the web. Thank you!
ASUS X99-A NOT GIVING DISPLAY WITH I7 6900K I DONT HAVE OLD PROCESSOR
Does this board allow you to boot from the m.2?
Glad I went for this board and not a Z170, especially now i'm running 1080's in SLI cause of the lanes (1080's run best on PCIe 3 16x lanes).
My Oct build I7 6800K with that motherboard with 16GB DDR4 with 4.5TB HDD cost was $840
I like more info ssoooo U did G O O D ! ! Keep them coming . (-; }}
How to check REV 2?
nice review
Hi! I really like the videos and they are really easy to follow. Do you have any plans for doing a similar short video for the RAM memory? the options on the market are many and points to look for, could be a real eye-opener for some of us. Thank you.
Very informative and useful video. Im planning to have this set-up. Kindly help me if this can run games at ultra settings for 2-3 years? Asus x99 A usb 3.1 Core i7 6800k EVGA Gtx Titan X SC and another none-SC in SLI SAMSUNG 950 pro SSD 512gig (for now) Corsair Vengeance 4x8gb DDR4 2400mhz Corsair RM1000i Thanks
Your videos are very informative and just what I need at the moment with building my PC. Grateful you went into the details as many don't. What RAM would you recommend for this MB or the ASUS X99A-II? Thanks PS Very happy I came across your videos.
Your videos look great on my new Samsung 4K curved screen 65". Please consider doing a review of the ASUS X99 Strix (ROG) motherboard. Like you've said, I intend to have this machine for up to 10 years, so I look forward to your thoughts. I plan on using the I7-6850 cpu because it has 40 lanes of PCIe. Overkill for now, but down the road? Time will tell.
I love your videos! I just keep going thru the list watching them lol. Awesome new board by the way! Have you completed your new X99 system build yet?
i'm going to buy the i7 6800k with the X99-A but I wanted to know if there was an X99-A with a USB 3.1 C port? and which case your recommend with this configuration? also getting a gtx 1080 for 4k editing
Hi everyone. Can I use two DUAL channel sticks on this motherboard? I want to buy https://www.amazon.com/Avexir-2666MHz-PC4-21300-Channel-Heatsinks/dp/B01HH00564/ but can't seem to find QUAD channel of that.
You make great videos, sir. Thank you.
great level of detail. very concise. you went through everything in an easy to understand, thorough manner. without any information overload.
how about put in 8 Memories?
Nice video, very detailed. Keep up the good work.
Caan I get you to do a asus rampage v. edition?
Intel officially sucks. 2011 not compatible with 2011 V3, Why not give it a total new socket? What a bunch of stupids. Just sale bait.
Hey, so I'm building a new system with a 5820K. Would you say that coupled to that processor and decent ram I should be able to edit 4K video fairly easily? Thanks
Samsung SSD 850 EVO M.2 the BIOS does not recognize is incompatible. >: (
Is it possible to put in a 980Ti in each PCIEX16_1 and PCIEX16_3 and a Soundblaster Zx PCIEx1 soundcard into slot PCIEX16_2 or PCIEX16_4? I'd like my GPU's not to be too close to each other. Used with a 28-lane 5820k
I no nothing about computer parts. Recently my asus cloned computer stop working apparently cause of the black outs. I should bought a battery back up but oh well. My motherboard model is: asus m4n68t-m v2 . Processor amd phenom 11. I use my computer mostly for music production downloadinng music netsurfing and dealing with plugins. Im looking to update my pc so i can have more ram memory. I have 8gb (kingston) Ram .. (Hyper blue) i want to upgrade to 16gb. I meed a good recomendation for a motherboard that does the job but in a budget 100 to 150 max. Thanks in advance
Asus or MSI mobo what best?
I just finished a new build today and i took everything super slow. I have a great build waiting to be played with. Ok, so the problem is the motherboard has a green light the says power reset. My build has 4 fans in total and only 2 were running. The psu fan was one of the fans that was running. Therefore we cannot post and run bios for the first. I REALLY need help i am looking everywhere for an explanation i have tried a lot of things. My gpu is fine fine, cpu was working. psu working. the computer knows how to turn off so it has some sence of smarts. I can list all my specs. If anybody has a solution for me please reply.
Hi will my M.2 work with this board?
Why look at the pro for WiFi? The pro is too expensive for me, I'll Just buy a wifi adapter for the X99A much cheaper and also a good solution :)
This bord sucks i have it instald windows 7 work fine the first month then after that it went into starting windows and will not go oast that screen i got new ssds and reinstald windows 7 and still nothing the problem seems to be in the bios witch i never tuch yet still keeps changing by its self for some reson
I need a motherboard for amd fx8320 not oc, shapphire nitro r9 380 4gb ddr5 dual x oc GPU + nvdia gt630 2gb ddr3, 8gb ram, HDD 500gb. Which one will be perfect? My budget is 150$.
Is there anyway to run 2-Way SLI using the first 2 x16 slots?  I have 2 cards on waterblocks connected with a Terminal with only 1 slot spacing.  I bought this board off newegg under the assumption that there were 3 Gen 3 x16 slots (pictured on newegg), now the 2nd x16 slot is running Native x1 with both cards installed in slots 1 + 3?  The Bios is saying they need to be installed in slots 1 + 4, does anyone know if there is anyway to get around this?
I like this motherboard, fuck the other ones like the x99 deluxe and Rampage, they have too much bullshit that I dont need, I dont care for the stupid white casing on the deluxe board either, more pointless features means more headaches
Dude, pls  he should stay a little further back. He's 50% of the whole scene. If the dude is afraid to stay a little further back, get a table infront of him so he has something to interact.- To your graphs: Check out r/dataisbeautiful on reddit. You have a 16:9 ratio. make use of it. This is extremely annoying if you are on mobile and cant read the numbers(+ it defeats the purpose of horizontal bar graphs).
I'm waiting for the corsair h110i gt, so in the mean time what other options you recommend to cool the i7 5820k. I don't want to spend a lot, So the 212 evo would be a good choice ? Be quiet Dark Rock 3? Or the hyper d92?
Not a bad board. But extra $60-70 for the wifi dongle and more storage seems to be a worth to pay extra. A usb 3.0 ac wifi from net gear is an extra $60 in its self. Now if this board came in around $220 I'd consider it an option Just recently did a build with the x-99pro for a family member and the included wifi dongle is a lot better than a usb dongle. not to mention magnetic :)
Sexy looking board, but buy a new chip, Not a chance.
ooooooh...my 2011 i7 won't fit...........freaking Intel
I the first one to watch wow
I know this vid is old but I have a question I can't seem to find an answer for. I have this exact board and I was wondering if the factory stand-offs for cooler mounting can be removed from this board to use aftermarket back plates that come with AOI coolers. It looks as though this whole plate is just screwed to the board, like any other back plate, but it all looks like it's one piece. So if I remove it, I also remove the cpu clips that hold the cpu down. Can someone let me know?
these videos are really good, your performance is great. but you'd benefit from better lighting. look up soft boxes
supports two graphics cards ?
If I want to use the OS Windows 10 Raid 1 using 2 Sata drives. Which Sata ports do I use? The black colored Sata Ports or the gray Sata ports?
Is there a big diffrence between this X99-A and Asus x99 Deluxe motherboard? I know deluxe have wireless but anything exept that is almost the same right?
Is there anyway to run 2-Way SLI using the first 2 x16 slots?  I have 2 cards on waterblocks connected with a Terminal with only 1 slot spacing.  I bought this board off newegg under the assumption that there were 3 Gen 3 x16 slots (pictured on newegg), now the 2nd x16 slot is running Native x1 with both cards installed in slots 1 + 3?  The Bios is saying they need to be installed in slots 1 + 4, does anyone know if there is anyway to get around this?
Could barely hear you over how loud that music was. maybe turn the volume of the music DOWN and your voice up. Also, you didnt explain the arrows that you align to be sure the processor is going in correctly. i would have also like to see boot up and bios.
Hi Can you specify what DDR4 you installing in this configuration?
made in costa rica and it costs that much.... wow
fastest processor you can get? Well.....No that is only if you don't include Xeon's which are Intel's most powerful consumer processors. I normally score right there with these 8 core rigs and I may have spent a little more for my rig but in a year or so I will be adding my second CPU to this board and will be doubling my systems power and to be stuck with so little ram expansion would not work for what I do Video Editing. I have 10 cores now and will have 20 physical cores and 40 threads and a total of 16 slots for Ram which is simply amazing. This rig replaces the very first i7 Extreme that I had and this is 20 times faster or more... Its A BEAST!!!
god damn X99 is expensive.. even more than 170 platform
Powerful processor I have mine installed on a Asus ROG Rampage V Extreme/U3.1 and I am using a Corsair H80i GT for cooling. I see you have a Corsair H110i GTX how are your temps and do you run benchmark like Cinebench 11.5 what is your stock cpu score?
Awesome video Arnold! Cheers!
