In case anybody is still reading these comments: I just bought one of these, and am having lots of eye strain doing standard office work, particularly with white backgrounds. I've turned the brightness WAY down from factory default, have messed with Win10 calibration settings, etc, but still feel the same way. If anybody has any "silver bullet" settings, I'd love to know 'em.
Is there any widescreen monitor that has the same height as this?
Is it wired or wireless? I need a wired monitor.

On windows with running with an nvidia graphics card, you can use the nvidia control panel to set the refresh rate of this monitor to 72hz(

I have owned this monitor for a few years now. You mention you don't like the contrast. I noticed the same thing, but only when I use the HDMI input. if I use the DVI-D input suddenly the blacks are rich and deep, and nothing looks washed out. the whites are bright and pure looking. Not sure why that is, but don't use the HDMI input. it makes a world of difference. if your like me you probably have a few HDMI to DVI adapters laying around already anyway. give it a shot.

True. Contrast sucks and the presets suck. I got mine for $25 at the flea market, though, so I can look past it. I like that it has the headphone outputs though. I mounted it to the wall, hid the wires and plugged in a blu ray. Plugged in some USB PC speakers (powered by blu ray) and it does the job. Eventually I'll plug in an HD TV tuner with HDMI out, to use as TV. The only thing that would have made this better (for my particular use) would have been a USB input to power my PC speakers or to have actual speakers.

hey man, i would really appreciate it if you could answer me. i have a samsung syncmaster b2430. but a month now it started facing a problem where it works 2-4 hours and then turns off 1 minutes then on again...and so on, i tried looking for someone to fix it for me but nothing so far. i found asus VS228h-p and i'm thinking if my screen is never gonna be fixed. maybe i can buy it. do you think this asus monitor is as good as the samsung i have now?? the price is very good the ms response time is the same but other than that...i'm not sure. do you recommend it. my options are very limited. this one is the best among the other options i could find. please i need your help.
