I have the GL553VW and as of April 2020 this laptop is still fast and very good to work on. And now with the prices of SSDs, I upgraded to an EVO 860, and the M.2 to a newer version and I have had reads of 3 Gbps transfer. The quality of the material still rocks. The only downfall is definitely the battery. I swapped for another one and yeah. doesn’t last much. But for everyday usage, work, editing and some ocasional gaming it still rocks on.
I have this laptop and it doesn’t want to stay on. Could I ship it to you and maybe you can take a look at it.

I own this laptop my previous laptop was a regular hp laptop that could run payday 2 at medium and sims 4 at ultra With light lag and its hard drive pretty much exploded and it won’t boot windows anymore it’s useless well my father said he was repairing my laptop then slapped the box for this in my lap and was just like YO NEW COMPUTER and let me tell you it is amazing I’ve had no issues it runs everything great according to steam it could do some light vr

Haha, mine broke after my sister spilled orange soda on the laptop and it spilled into the main processers and motherboard. My parents say it broke because I played "too many intensive video games" such as Minecraft and Astroneer on it. They said there's no way orange soda could damage a PC.

I just came here to say in reality the laptop sucks and it's driving me insane. That freaking 5400 rpm HDD screws you over. You can smoke a cig until it boots up (when it's new), 2 cigs after you start installing your stuff and use it. You have to beg until you go and open a game, Steam or Blizzard Launcher. Chrome works like shit on it and going through the settings menu pushes your patience to the max. I send this piece of crap in repairs 2 times. First time they change the HDD, 2nd time they changed the HDD and the RAM and it works the same. Oh, did I mention that it gives you bluescreen errors in regards of the video card every time the laptop heats up? Oh, and it heats up even when you freaking update PUBG in the steam. If you switch your fan speed from auto to max while in a game, guess what? Bluescreen error! Now you know what happens after I play 1 hour of GTA 5? It crashes the game saying it doesn't have enough memory. It wasn't affordable, I got it for 1000 euros (on sale) and its worthless. A waste of money. You know what Asus Repair said? Sorry, from our tests it works fine so we have nothing to do about it.

Got it for 875 US in India Really gr8 gaming performance and Average Battery life . They could have skipped the Dvd Drive . Yes the Boot Up speeds are not that much Good . Plus the Hot Air directly comes on Hand . But after all at this price point is a pretty Mean device with good sound quality and the above mentioned cons are really the budget constraints which are not hard to live with ,coz once it starts it is blazing fast.
