Flash it to a Vega 64 bios and now it's the answer to the GTX1080 and 2060Super in 2020 ;)
80° on a 2,5 slot cooler with triple fans on a premium version of a card? dafuq. my 1080 palit runs on 63° under 95% load
I am confuse about Vega 56 and gtx 1660.. plz suggest
I mean it's £260 so that's a great deal
https://www.computeruniverse.net/en/asus-arez-strix-radeon-rx-vega-56-oc-gaming-80-gb-oc-high-end-graphics-card now seems good deal ;)
Now a year later, this is 510 cad on newegg
IT’S £299.99 IN THE UK 🇬🇧!!!!! RIGHT NOW ON AMAZON
I upgraded to the Strix 56 from a Sapphire R9 Fury Nitro. While the 1440p performance is greatly appreciated, i've been finding Asus's cooler lackluster. Maybe I'm just spoiled by that Fury Nitro?
With my old Fury, I had it undervolted -60mV and left the fans at 50% at all times. It was completely inaudible even just web browsing. In games I never saw temperatures rise over 66C or so. Move onto the Strix. Stock wattman profiles will not turn the fans up nearly enough and let the card climb to 80 degrees before it even really reacts. My VRM temps would reach 100C just playing games. Opened up the card to find the thermal pad does not even cover all the mosfets, the last one closest to the PCIe connector is only halfway covered, and mine looked almost like it was chewed up on the end above that mosfet. I'm not the only one to find this in their Strix 56. The replacement pad should be 3mm thick, which good luck finding any for a reasonable price. As for the core temperature, I need to set the fans to reach 90% at 65C, and 100% at 72C just to keep the temperature under control, and the fans on this card are annoyingly loud, emitting a high pitch wail. I could deal with the sound of air rushing, but the noise the fans make is audible through my headphones if I have the sound down to a reasonable volume with my PC about two feet to my right. And, to add on top of that, there is the Hot Spot temperature. I've tried finding out what and where this hot spot temperature is coming from, but AMD has never given an answer. It is tied to clock speeds though. Mine reaches 105C within a few minutes while the core sits in the low 70's, dragging clocks down. Far Cry New Dawn and Dirt Rally 2.0 crash within half an hour to an hour at most of playing, requiring full system restarts and playing with Wattman again. Using the card's default settings with the balanced mode but a more aggressive fan curve helps nothing.
Vega has been a pleasure ever since I bought this card when Crypto was on it's way out the door. It's just a shame Sapphire's Nitro cooler was nowhere to be seen. Had both been available, i'd buy the Sapphire over the Strix everytime, even for a price premium. I have read the Pulse cards have issues with coil whine and it looks like trash compared to the Strix.
same card is 400$ today on amazon. should I buy?
whats with the dip switch for? its not explain in the video
Hi PC centric, I'm loving the quality of your reviews. I have read about there being a significant issue with certain small areas of the card not being covered by thermal pads leading to massive temperatures in specific areas that, although they don't contribute to a higher overall gpu temperature, cause significant detriments to performance. Do you know if your card was affected at all by this? Any unusual temperature hot spots? I'm unsure whether I should send back the strix 56 that is on its way or play the lottery.
can I fit two of this in a crosshair hero vii without choking the top gpu
What computer case are you using?
I want an AMD card to rival the 1080ti ugh
AMD Asus Radeon RX Vega 56 Strix Gaming 806€ euro here in Finland !!! :(
Ops, you forgot Vulkan and true Dx12 titles...
Could you recommend a GPU in the $200-$250 range. I am looking at building my first computer but I really don't know what to look at in that price range that would be the best for the dollar. My budget would be around $750 total and I am trying to learn as much as possible. Thanks!
the last ROG Radeon card, fuck ASUS and the GPP!!!!
Vega 56 runs hotter?
Mate, in your own benchmarks, you CLEARLY show the 1070 is 3 degrees higher than the Vega. For this, I will have to dislike, and the subscribe button no longer exists for your channel.
The frame time graph in BF V looked tragic
That Vega NEEDS an undervolt/overclock. 1475 MHz Core and 800MHz HBM is a joke, it can easily do 1550 Core and 1000MHz HBM
How is the card in GTA:O? since the online has much less fps. i play gtx 1070 120fps singleplayer but 50-70 online
Thinking of upgrading my old rx 580 with a Vega 56, worth it?
so RTX 2060 win in the day game mode and Vega 56 win in the night game..
Is the ASUS rog strix vega 56 as good ?
vega still works like butter in warzone
The winner in average fps is RTX 2060 with 91.77 and RX Vega56 with 88.66... 3.51% difference. Not bad for the actual price of RX Vega56.
In my country vega 56 is more than 2x as much as an rtx 2060 wtf
Sin rt feliz con mi vega 56
I'm happy with my RTX 2060
In my country
Pakistan vega = 270$
2060 = 480$
2060S = 550$
Can't find vega new so used price
Viga 56 my favorite
Vega 56 holds up pretty well here. Got my Vega 56 for $280 USD and got Division 2, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Devil May Cry 5. Considering the stock performance, the overclocking potential, and being able to update the bios to make it a Vega 64, I'd say it's a pretty sweet deal.
Well hello im gonna say it
In my country i found a radeon 56 at 200$ should i buy it?
te falto fortnite dislike
200$ vega 56 easy win
Fake My Vega 56 Gets 100 FPS In Most Games
Not good for rdr2 crashes
I purchased a brand new Vega 56 early last year for 220$, now with the video card shortage due to all the crypto mining, theses cards are going for almost 1000$ on Ebay, lol!
now it cost's where i live more than 450 euros XD
this card is a beast. underrated. sometimes u can get a really good price for it. especially now everyone is for raytracing.
this card can play many new games.
187 fps pubg on vega 56 high settings and ryzen 3800x with 32 gb ram ,stable build :d
Great card i have it ,and so older so better it is
Man the question shouldnt be if it is good for gaming. It should be how good it is for gaming. Considering that the vega 56 is as good as a rtx 2060
Holy crap, $160 for a Vega 56 is a steal 😂
Sapphire is actually the "EVGA" of AMD. I have the sapphire limited vega 56 and it's a really good card. Great card for mining etherium too.
hbm2 memories are integrated in cpu so PCB dont need to be long
you will get better results when undervolting card
Vega 56 and 64 have thing called HBCC and you can put the slider to 24gb of system ram to help in farcry... Try it.
Lmao Far Cry 5 hates AMD, my GTX 970 runs about the same as the Vega 56
At 1440p this card is running strong for me with a good OC I can’t even run 4K (with some tweaks)
Hi, is this Video card works good with 4k,6k editing videos ? My CPU is Ryzen 9 3900 12c. Thank you
Micro center has an extended warranty for gpus, and all the parts they sell, which means for your choice of 2-3 years, you are ensured, and able to return it whenever you like
I've never heard of this specific card
worth it getting it and selling the 1070?
rog strix vega56 + i5 10600
60 avg fps
valorant logo card
"You actually need both 8 pins for these cards"
*3 years later* "Both cards have triple 6pin connectors and consume upwards of 500w peak load"
Pov: you’re coming back to see amds last flagship
This video is still more relevant to the market then rtx 3000 series reviews
Well Navi Is Here
the real question is...would you buy it in 2020
At the beginning I thought I opened the video twice, haha. So, as for 2020, for a Hackintosh 7700k, 32gb ballistix, gigabyte
GA-Z170X-Ultra Gaming and high sierra, for video editing and rendering with Davinci Resolve, I can get a Vega 56 for around 200€ and a Vega 64 for around 300€. Thoughts? Any recommendations?
3 years later, Big Navi launched. Already out of stock. Some things never change...
Bought a vega56 strix gaming card 1 year ago and i just love it. Never had any worries and i destroy blender and premiere pro with it.
Wait for big navi its finally here
Wait till he sees that rtx 3090 with 3 yes 3 8 pin
HAPPY BIG NAVI DAY
That hopefully it was worth the wait is such a reminder of how little valve pays attention to tf2
Hahahahahahaha Volta lol
I bought the Vega 56 for 190€ brand new in 2019. lol
Wait for Navi... ;)
And Navi is soon be upon us
If this card can let me run most games over 60 fps at 1080p on ultra settings, or even 1440p or 4k upscaled on well optimized titles, while my CPU is a 12 year old i7-965e with 12 gb of 1066 ghz ddr3, you know it's still a beast.
what the difference from the original and the limited edition?
I hope the new Ampere reviews coming up make mention of the power hogs they will be.
