ASUS ROG Maximus XII Formula Review
Who else is here cuz this is CoryxKenshin pc?
can u give me the link of your magic cable power your motherboard.....PLEASEEEEEEEEEE......how to do that
BTW, Was referring towards z390 XI!!!
Why not have a brand new z390 review with new bios updates etc, and also more mobos would be nice to rediscover your reviews. Let me know if u would be able to able to do it.
Had this board laying around for two months now.... too lazy to build
IS it correct this board still only has 4 VRM?
ive got this come Wednesday how many standoff does it have I only see 8
Is it worth it over the x hero? Because the prize changes a lot un Argentina.
Where is the thunderbolt?
IS the first Maximus X Hero in the graph supposed to read/be the Maximus X Code?
Been following your videos since you convinced me to get the formula z87. Glad to hear I’m going on to the z370
think you can start doing 4k videos soon?
"Quite an expensive board" It's thee most expensive flagship for z370 man
I just ordered mine with a i7-8086k im so excited!!
Mine comes tomorrow along with my Strix 1080ti.
Is it an ATX?
Honestly I'm not sure this is sexier than my Maximus VI Formula. I still love it.
I have a question , what is the big difference between this motherboard and ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero? Currently I'm running 6700k + ASUS Maximus VIII Extreme Assembly which has been the top motherboard based on Z170 chipset so my question is there is a big sense of upgrading from 6700k to 8700k as I already have 8700k and the only thing i need to buy one of those Z370 motherboard. and which one would you recommend, Hero, Formula or maybe other brand like EVGA Z370 or Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 7? I would appreciate your professional advise! Regards from sunny Ukraine,Deny.
This may be a really stupid question, but since the max amount of memory on this motherboard can hold is 64gb would that mean you could have 4 sticks of 64gb of ram or would you have to have 4 sticks of 16gb?
Thinking about ordering this motherboard for my build, love this board. Question I have is I'm only going to be running a H150i PRO, not a full water cooled system. I know that the Maximus X Formula is meant for custom water cooling but would it be okay just sticking with the H150i PRO? Thanks.
I'm really confused, the review states that this motherboard only accepts 8th Generation CPU's however does it not matter that the socket is LGA1151 (same as lets say an I7-9700k which is 9th Gen)? Can someone clarify? - doesn't it mean this motherboard accepts 8th and 9th Gen ?
Man, excellent content. I've watched this video about 10 times now, cause there is always something I can't remember and come back. You do an awesome job for someone who is just starting out. Hang in there my dude, you produce outstanding content, and although it will take some time to grow your channel, you have what it takes to make this thing work.
Just got this board for my build and looks really nice in the case aswell with the lights on it and the little screen
Can intel 6700K skylake LGA 1151 fit this board??
If i don't decide to use water cooling yet can i still run it on fans? Even with water blocking on?
Laurent, your videos are the best. I am buying this board because of your review (they should be paying you :-). Question: Would there be danger of damage if I am not using custom water cooling? ...if I don't use that waterblock @3:00, for example, would it hurt the capacitors (since they are not air cooled). I like all the extra features of this motherboard over the Hero... I just don't want to have crazy watercooling.
Does it support nvme?
can this board run whitout water cooling ? i'm in love whit this board but in my country there is no way to make custom water colling ?
Beautiful motherboard
commented on my pc that using maximus x formula :)
This may be a really stupid question, but since the max amount of memory on this motherboard can hold is 64gb would that mean you could have 4 sticks of 64gb of ram or would you have to have 4 sticks of 16gb?
I would like your opinion of Gigabyte motherboards, their Aorus ultra gaming series
I really enjoy watching your review. I like the way you label/highlight the areas of the motherboards when you are addressing them. Nice job 👍
I'm having massive problems. I'm wondering if you can help? I have a NZXT h700 with this board and a Kraken X62 Aio cooler. Problem is that board only provides x1 usb 2.0 header. I need two of them headers. One for the mini USB cable coming out of the Aio and the USB 2.0 case ports. How do I go about this?
Would you be able to throw Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32 GB (8x4) DDR4 3600 on this bad boy? I heard that Corsair Link isn't compatible but there's a lack of information available.
Honestly I wish all YouTubers did their reviews as great as yours, well done!
Isn’t that a 3.0 to 2.0?
It's too bad that they can't run a GPU's power through the PCIe channel it is hooked into.
Ugh, why do you people never learn? YOUR INTRO IS TOO LOUD COMPARED TO THE REST OF YOUR VID!!! I just don't understand why this is such an issue. Don't you notice this in post? Thumbs down for that. Anyway, that's all for my rant. Fine video otherwise. Fix this and I may consider subscribing.
Nice job! Subscribers + 1
Who has a optical drive you would wast your money if you buy one then never us it so why should we keep the dvd for if we can't us it
Unfortunately my Oled, livedash doesn't work here! I don't know what to do...
what does that built in water cooler cool specifically
Does the board need to be water cooled? or is it just optional
Twenty two Eleven zero 😂
were did you get it from bro.
Damn such a sexy board :D
WEB REVIEW is now live guys: https://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/asus_rog_maximus_xii_formula_review,1.html
I would consider this an introduction. This product was not used or reviewed at all.
Hi. What do you do with the waterblocks? Do you pour water into it? I’m building my maximus xii formula right now.. but I’m confused
Bought this motherboard because i was going to water cool in about six months from now and in the meantime i bought lian li aio. Then to find out theres not a single 3 pin cpu fan connector
im big dumb. how would i connect a monitor? i dont see a display port or hdmi
So its black and chrome all the pictures on the box show black and red
Im having slow boot time on this motherboard... did you experience anything like that?? Bios boot time 25seconds. Thanks
Hello bro, I would just like to ask your advice if this is a better purchase than a Maximus xii hero wifi? thank you
I don’t like the new armor they use... the older style was much more aggressive and beast looking
I'm considering this as an upgrade for my Formula VII, but not sold, but thank you for a great review once again
I NEED the live wallpaper. What's it called?
I have a question, is this motherboard compatible with an Intel Core i9-9900KF?
Great review! I think you started to cover whether or not it’s necessary to use the water cooling but I don’t think you ever have a for sure answer? I’m looking at rebuilding from my i9 9900k 2080ti to 3090 i9 10900k I have done custom petit liquid cooling for my i9 9900k so I can do it but it’s a lot more work than I want to really mess with on a new build. Thanks!
Well i bought my maximus formula vi when it first came out and now its still worth around 300 uk pounds
Do I have to watercool the motherboard to buy this? I prefer it over the Hero because of the more USB ports!
I just bought the ROG Maximus XII Formula (WiFi6) and an i7-10700K. I can't figure out what the best memory sticks are for this for 32GB (2x16) or 16GB (2x8). I want it to be as fast as I can get w/o OC because I suck at OCing RAM. I was looking at the GSkill Ripjaws V line in 32GB (as a pair): F4-3200C14D-32GVR Ripjaws V DDR4-3200MHz CL14-14-14-34 1.35V32GB (2x16GB) or the same but 2 x 8 for 16GB. I'm not a 'gamer' per se, but I am a rather dedicated flight sim hobbyist and have been for the last 10 years. I've stuck with the MS FSX platform and have thousands wrapped up in 3rd-party add-ons. However, MS will soon be releasing their newest platform, which, if half as good as they say, will likely be where I go next. Still, I also do my day to day work and I store my data on 6 internally mounted, 500GB, SSDs as well as one external 1TB hybrid. I don't run any RAID configs for the drives and treat them as individual storage options. I often will run at least 4 of these drives at the same time, which may or may not put a demand on the RAM, but I mention this in case it does make a difference. I also do still photography editing (beyond that of just simple post shooting clean-ups) and work with large RAW, PSD, DNG & tiff files, and most average between 105 mb & 180 mb but my panorama shots are even larger. My flight hobby is something I refer to only to help someone gauge and assess the kind of RAM size & speed I would be best buying. I'm not concerned about the price, it's really about performance and size. Any suggestions? BTW: I'm really squeezed for time so any one who has a pretty good idea of what I should look at, please don't hesitate to post a suggestion. I need to close a deal on this search ASAP. Thanks, Rich PS Thanks for the video. It was moving along a bit faster than I could keep up with but then, I had the spec sheet anyway.
is it possible to fit an m.2 heatsink on the rear m.2 slot?
Pathetic.... next „generation” with ps2 port..... z490 is another idiotic public consumpction and marketing product, nothing new.... just for retarded naive wallets. I have formuła XI, software and bios is still buged and not stable to this day, when XI generation is ending no words for Asus....
Thanks for the very in depth review. I was going to get the Apex variant, is there a big difference between this one and the Apex variant? I dont mind the extra cost if it is worth the uptick in price but I cant find the differences. TIA
THanks!
