Oh sexy! Love it bringing sexy back to Sound Cards
How Do you connect studio monitor speakers like the ones you have to that SOUND CARD ?? sound card dont have balanced OUTPUT ( NO Cannon etc output ) ?
I enjoy your reviews, I just wish someone with a bit of knowledge could help out with how to set the damn sound up?? I have the Asus Xonar STX II 7.1 card coupled with a 7.1 true surround headset and as far as I can tell, IT'S f***ing CRAP... I've tried everything to get it to sound good but the sound is insipid and when facing something coming straight toward you, it sounds like you've got your head in a bucket..... The BlasterX AE-5 that I used prior, although not true 7.1 surround but virtual 7.1 was brilliant compared to this STX II.... Any comments on what I might be doing wrong, if anything? Stereo is great, but that's NOT what I purchased this card for.... And no, my headset is working just fine.
To all Ryzen Users...dont buy this card...its crap and doesnt work
can you explain how you have the asus sound card connected to the krk speakers???
Can you create zones with this sound cards software. for example choose between the sound playing in zone one (your home theater) or zone 2 (your family room). if there is no preset for zones are you able to individually mute a speaker instead of muting all of the speakers connected to the sound card. please reply if you know.
Once you use this sound card you will NEVER go back using on board sound cards EVER!😃😃😃😃😃
Subbed. Good work - just in the process of swapping my ST (PCI) for an STX II. I was nearly swayed back to Creative, and couldn't decide whether or not to take the daughterboard off ebay... lets just say the listing has ended early.
This card is incredible. I love mine.
Creative ZXR vs asus xonar essence stx ii ???? application for games, music and movies
I have this card and this is a poor review including the article imo. No proper explanation of specifications and/or the engineering involved. No properly detailed information on observations. No objective measurements. I think I am in a position to offer an informed opinion. I have the Rokit 6 G3's myself. I also had the original STX which I modded with a LT1364 and OPA1612 op-amp combination. In saying this I believe this card should be called the Essence STX 1.5 aka "Essence STX: Perfected Edition". Brilliant card that 4 years on still has no equivalent equal imho. The engineering choices are on point. ATM I am running it with the latest Uni-Xonar drivers. "HiFi" mode on @ 80% volume. Using XMPlay with WASAPI Exclusive mode. My Ultrasone Signature Pro's sound very good off of it as do an assortment of other headphones. This is an image of my setup :-) - https://photos.app.goo.gl/nJoX11SkAP68v18b9
i bet this sound card will go lovely with my genelec g twos
Does spif matter in these comparisons? I have Logitech Z-5500 THX-Certified 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Speaker System. Paired with a Sound Blaster Z pcie. I want to make the best use of my speakers capabilities with my next hopefully Universal sound output device for gaming and excellent movies / music. HT OMEGA Claro Halo Internal Sound Card, ASUS Sound Card Essence STX II Internal Sound Card, Creative Sound Blaster Omni Surround External Sound Card or just stick with what I have? I love anything from Bach to punk, I want to hear anything from a whale singing underwater a volcano exploding erupting thundering on the low end to a gnat flying by in a high-pitch. I don't know where the compromise is of what I want and the no compromise of what I want. should I have to tolerate to separate speaker systems? One for Gaming One For movies music? I don't want to give up and keep on changing my cables around for its purpose
Did you just curse, Fuck.
omg you said impotence mate. I think you mean impedance !!
Hello man, what is the true difference between this STX ll card and the first STX, please i need to know more in-depth infomation before i purchase this product, thanks!
Hi. I have an amp (Cambridge CXA80 with Audio Monitor Silver 1) Its connected to a PC with X-Fi Platinum. You recommendo me STX II i will feel the difference? Thanks!
12:20 what a wanker
I upgraded to an Asus Xonar STX II from an Asus Xonar DX/XD, a few hours ago. And the sound quality of middle and high range is almost the same, the low end on the other hand is a lot more detailed and powerfull! The lows (REL T5) are almost as good as the the lows from my hifi-set in my living room! Now my neighbours will have even more reason to complain about the noise level coming from my bedroom!
Thank you for the information. Here is a problem I have and am hoping you can help me solve it. As you are well-aware, there are lots of different content creators with varying degree of audio recording quality. I find myself constantly adjusting and messing with audio settings and end up more dissatisfied than ever. Is there a software/hardware combination solution to equalize and/or normalize audio reaching my headphones (I use good quality wired headphones B&O and B&W on an average PC listening to lots of spoken words)? please advise and thank you very muc in advance
This is what i needed. Somehow you reviewed it 8 years ago.
6:48 I told you.......Lol
But can i use my hyper x cloud stinger 7.1 surrond wit hthis card?
The sounds sometimes cuts out on one speaker on my Xonar DX How good can Xonar be if someone had to create 3rd party unified drivers?
Hello 8 years agoLinux
asus xonar or creative sound blaster zx ?
Mine just died. It served me well,
I'm listening to this on my Asus Xonar Essence STX and I approve.
its 2019 but my mother board sound not enough. so i'm gonna by one
I own this card for years now. I have issues with the mic input. Static hum noises in teamspeak discord.......
and yet the sound on this video..... hmmmm
he forgot about the 6 that's right 6 channel optional card which will output to 6 rca channels . it uses a cable connection to the main card to achieve this. you have to use some kind of adapter to get the rca to input to 3.5 stereo jacks. you can then use a home theatre desktop speaker setup. its called the hdav he. ebay sells it i have a pci version of the card instead of pcie
Still use it 02/08/2018
do you have a video on the sound blaster ZXR sound card and can you do a reveiw on that card giving your point of view? thanks

Is the "Line In" on this card able to support a Stereo 1/4" cable or is it Mono?
There is an airplane in the video!
Headset - microphone to skype or viber? Lol.
Ordered the STX II, can't wait to pair my 20+ year old HD 580s with it!
Linus, I dig your channel and the work all of you do to make quality videos, so clearly all of you have some sort of experience with video and audio hardware and software. I'm a starting out sound engineer for mainly music, and id like to see more videos on sound cards, audio interfaces and software tips with Pro Tools and Adobe Audition. Thanks!
