I previously made some awful comments after a bout of drinking and g14 struggling to play even 10 year old games . . . turned out I had a faulty machine and was refunded. Upgraded to g15 3070 and it's amazing. I was pretty bent out of shape because I'm poor and it took work to save up to buy with cash. I apologize for my rudeness, and am glad to own the G15, or a proper G14. My apologies to anyone who read my comments concerning an inanimate object. I also apologize to the inanimate object. My faulty G14 was sent to an isolated area in the North Pole where faulty toys go to die.

Should I buy it for game development ?
Currently typing on my G14, really please with the quality, luckily did not experience any QC issues. Only went with the base model, while I enjoyed the idea of the light up display on the front of the laptop, the price jump honestly just wasn't ideal in my eyes, but thankfully I have to say I have little to complain about. Well, save for the microphone having a small issue picking up input, but I did some troubleshooting and made it manageable.
does this laptop have thermal throttling
Just a note, adding a 16GB stick of RAM for 24GB total (8+16) won't stop it running in dual channel, it just means that once it's using more than 16GB total RAM the memory bandwidth will bottleneck (whether this affects performance will depend entirely on what you're doing).
I was actually going to buy this and then I realised they were using 3050. I am a bit surprised, as the top 3060 model is $500 less here. For that price, I can't justify the SE features. I just don't understand why Asus didn't "Alanize" the actual top model. Gaming performance between 3050ti and 3060 is massive, much bigger than the difference between 3060 and 3070.

To Dave and anybody who knows, will the Zephyrus G14/15 be locked to an old version of Windows 11 come 2023, when Microsoft says that webcams will be required for 11?I've been looking around for answers on this, and some say that it's likely MS was talking about devices made after 2023 will need webcams, and then there are some who say that's only if you're going for a certain version of Windows 11 (Enterprise, Home, etc.). I do like pretty much 90% of what I hear about this laptop, but I'm on the fence if it turns out the Zephyrus will eventually be restricted from updates in such a rare manner.
