Petroleum - Modern history of oil on a Map
Oil and gas Norway - Ministry of Petroleum and Energy
Equinor’s new climate ambitions in Norway
Norway turns its back on gas and oil to become a renewable superpower
I always wondered why oil prices finally went down in 2014 after about 8 years of higher then normal prices in the US This cleared it up The next frontier is oil exploration in the arctic circle which will enrich and empower the Northern Countries
Where is England going to get their oil when Scotland leaves the UK?
price of gas is confusing, it was apparently around 30 cents per gallon when my parents got married in 1973, it was usually around 99 cents a gallon in 2002 when i graduated highschool though sometimes could go up towards 1.50 or 2.00 dollars a gallon due to instability wall street speculation or price wars between gas stations moved to north carolina in 2008 from pennsylvania and it was initially around 2-2.40 per gallon usually here which is strange given pennsylvania has ot have it trucked in from the gulf or from carolinas or from refineries in new jersey area, while the carolinas have direct pipelines from the gulf of mexico refineries/pumping states and then further refine it and send it on trucks to other parts of the us so gas should be cheaper here but its often same or more expensive. then around 2008-2010 right around the construction industry and housing crises and economic collapse labeled a recession that was nearly a depression and was a depression in certain localized areas, the price of gas suddenly shot up to 4-4.50 a gallon for like 6 months or more due to some supply shortage or something. eventually gas stabilized at the 2-3 dollar range but then was going up again, but then around the time covid started gas suddenly came back down to 2-2.50 and stayed there, greatly reducing the impact of covid and helping people slowly get on their feet again that havent really been able to since the recession from 2007-2008 through 2010-2011 until 2018-2020 when things seemed to finally improve slowly. in fact at one point gas was down to about 1.85 a gallon again and even in early 2022 it was stable at about 2.20 per gallon even another supply shortage and all the problems with covid didn't affect it any at all hardly then suddenly after covid is supposedly over for the most part and the supply problem was resolved and pipeline fixed etc and everything suddenly there is this war with ukraine and wallstreet speculation and suddenly gas is now 4-5 dollars a gallon hitting prices its never hit in my entire lifetime since i was born in 1984, all this while the oil reserves were released/tapped into multiple times by the government and while there is this fracking thing and the us is apparently according to the video the largest producer off and on since 2014 and largest continuously it seems like since 2019 in the world, while demand is still cratered out due to electric cars and covid and that great resignation thing etcetera so far less people are driving now in 2022 then were in 2017-2018 and i'm seeing more buses and more car service/ride services and more development of public transit slowly but surely and what not so the demand isnt present like it was and measures were taken that would usually crater prices, yet prices are still growing in leaps and bounds. while stores are still not being stocked like they should be either, killing the economy. and apparently the cities are up to 10 dollar a gallon gas, if it goes that high nationwide the us will experience a humanitarian crisis the likes of which it has never seen as people won't be able to afford to make it to their jobs, so they will lose their homes and end up homeless surprisingly quickly
havent even heard of conoco phillips or total
Thank you! Very informative
Any country with oil reserves better be allied with the US of they're fucked.
really well done video. hits the highlights of a very lengthy topic and timeline yet the graphics and explanations aren't overly complex and easy to follow. I esp loved the sliding scale to the left that showed how prices rose and fell over time.
Why did you turn off your comments in the India video, scared of people pointing out the inaccuracies? Truly shameful
money has no mercy.
It is not a fossil fuel.
It started in Krosno, please check Łukasiewicz and his lamp
Iraq invaded Kuwait for Kuwait to increase the price of oil, not border dispute. Bloody lying again
At 12.40 "another 50 years at current rates" which paper or Energy Agency have you used to make this statement.World Energy Outlook.written by 45 energy agencies .an in-depth report 2008 put 2030 as the decline. .Cheap conventional oil is already in you read your petrol gas electric prices
The 2020-2025 update should be interesting
May we get an update for 2022 to help explain the negative barrels of 2020 and the price hikes related to the Ukraine war?
Nicely done thanks. One main point: All our energy really comes from the sun. There are oil extractors, they extract and refine oil. Back in 1973 the media told us that oil would run out in 10 years. Hell yeah it sure did?
We take your oil and you get 30%
Global warming lies are to counter the oil industry
So much for peak oil predictions!
What if the rusia didn't sell alaska to the USA?
Wow this so incredible
Sorry but, Norway is one of richest countries in the world. They can afford any ambitions that can exist currently. What about the rest of the world, what solution do we have?
Lol they will need oil to be operational
Video gives false impression to those that are not aware of Norway's ongoing FF production, More honest video would've added that fact. It's great Norway has been reinvesting FF money into renewables of course. The more useful story would show other nations how to do both. The mess we're currently in requires full disclosure of what it takes to move away from FF to sustainables.
Norway is the cleanest producer of oil, if there still is a demand for oil it’s better that it’s done in the cleanest way possible. That is why Norway just doesn’t quit producing oil.
That’s excellent news. Will they be divesting from oil production at the same time? I always thought floating wind turbines were the greatest invention to have ever encouraged this transition, because they are movable.
And how will Norway compensate for all the environmental damage it has done getting rich from oil?
Iam appeal to the Honble UN secretary general iam facing life threat from the communal powers. Please provide security to me through NATO military forces. Please protect me sir
