Unboxing & detailed Review of ASRock C2550D4I Mini-ITX Server Workstation Motherboard
Should You Upgrade to Z270? ft. ASUS Motherboard lineup!
Best x58 Motherboard - Top 5 Motherboard of 2020
Where to install M.2 SSD on motherboard?
Sorry but am just about to buy a second hand one for a file server are these not a 8 core cpu? Cheers stew
Power Consumption would be very interesting.
It should be called Intel Aborton. This is one of the most crappy CPUs ever, basically there is no PC out there less performant than this. Only the MB+CPU costs 250GPB on Amazon, and is weaker than a 150GBP PC Is basically what intel does over and over again. Aren't you excited about 2329 CPU Mark? and 500 single thread? It's 2002 all over again !
Can this motherboard boot up off an iSCSI target? It isn't 100% clear. I plan on buying one for FreeNAS to create iSCSI targets and I want the other to boot up off these iSCSI targets. Intel i210 documentation says it supports it, but the asrock documentation doesn't mention it.
+David Lindeman : Yes, indeed it is. This board is running freeNAS at my home lab for the past 3 months with no issues. I recommend this board. The only challenge I had was finding the right memory sticks. This model of server board needs to have an unbuffered memory to work with.  For your information on finding the right memory, please take a look at the memory products validated from the memory manufacture – Kingston, http://www.kingston.com/us/memory/search/Default.aspx?DeviceType=7&Mfr=ASR&Line=Server%20Board&Model=87350&Description=Kingston_ValueRam_Memory_Server_Premier_Memory_HyperX_Memory_for_ASRock_Server_Board_C2550D4I   You may notice that all the memory they have validated for this server board are unbuffered. Crucial has a similar list of validated memory, and they are all unbuffered.
@uncledave1969 boards utilising the marvell controllers are not compatible with FreeNAS and technically FreeBSD entirely, at least until working drivers are made available.
nice review.. i hope you can answer me, do you think this board can handle CCBOOT? a software for diskless client booting, streaming HD games on gigabit network.
Nice review, i wish everyone was as direct and no-nonsense thanks very much. Cheers
3 Years later Still running a 7700k & Z270 board
Dayum.... Riley was a bitch even back then...
z270 supports 6th and 7th gen Intel Core processers. U forgot that one!!!
a hamburger in a hot dog bun is trickier.
Why is the 6600k $450 aud
I have Asus Z170-A with an i5 6600K,....is it worth me upgrading to Z370 and 9th Gen cpu?
bois i dont understand english that much but i really want to know that i have i7 7700k with z170mb should i upgrade? okay bios update but its still a z170 chipset and not a z270 i think i should upgrade
Am i the only one using brisbane?
I'm using 6600k and upgrading to 7700k for video editing purpose and gaming as well. So my question 7700k will work well on gigabyte z170n?
Can u have a skylake 6600k to a Z270 motherboard ?
I'm actually building a low heat itx build after the fact that requires the use of Skylake to keep to the dissipation margins. Was wondering if there are any drawbacks to using a Skylake in the new Z270 platform. Most of the Z170s are refurbs at this point, and any new ones are ridiculously high
I have Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura and I upgrade my i5 6600k to i7 7700k and that cost me only 100 euro.
if i have a i7 7700 should i upgrade to z 270 ?
wuts the highest end motherboard right now (plz dont answer with a question)?
looking at the lower end and high end hardware....there's so little difference performancewise, a good middle-priced gaming rig will stand time just as easily. I'm in for a new build this year and, choices are actually hard to make...guess waiting is an option, then again, not sure if it will be worth the time...
Sorry but i just want the answer its should upgrade? (Yes or not) I have i7-7700k with z170a Im not good at listening english just wanna know that Ita running but i notice stutter sometime and fps drop and we checked everything on other mother board but there everything worked well.without stutter or fps drop :/
if i'm with i7 7700k should i upgrade to z270?
I expected to find a Z170 vs Z270 review. I didn't watch the video but I can tell you that the answer is most certainly NO. When your rig is 5+ years old like my i5 2500k it's an other business.
hey, this guy does not look like that linus guy from the other tech channel
Can u overclock a 6600k on this
Last one is an amd board
Useless
Hi, guys. Check out this video about PCIe slots and M.2 slots on MSI motherboard: https://youtu.be/L0w5ICKsseM. You might find it useful.
Thanks for the Vid I have an Asus Z590 WIFI MoBo and was thinking of installing a Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB PCIe NVMe M.2 (2280) Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (MZ-V7S1T0) The M.2 would have my main OS installed onto it - which slot would be best? Could I use slot 1 ?
Can you help me please. It maybe a simple answer for you. I have a Z490 motherboard, and just bought 980 pro recently. Just realised that PCIE 4 is out of the equation for these 2. What is mu solution? Will the Hyper M2 expansion do the job in getting that PCIE 4 from the NVME?? Thanks in advance
Love the red hoodie
Very usful info 1 has 1 dim indent the other had 2 ...question why did you have 3 of in their ???
don’t worry about what you’re wearing don’t even apologize it’s your likings your comfort :D
Is it ok to put ssd below gpu?? Graphic card is GTX 1050 Ti.
Thanks. Really helpful
You mind making a video on the differences between the 1st and 2nd m.2 slots?
You sort of explained what the SATA M.2 does to SATA bandwidth and connections, but you didn't do the same for the PCIe M.2.
Thanks a billion...
Nice Hoodie!
Also, there are some boards, AMD B450 for example, that only provide a limited amount of PCI-E lanes. The first m.2 slot is usually not an issue because it feeds directly to the Ryzen CPU. But the second m.2 slot may be NVMe *or* SATA. In the first case, if you plug an NVMe SSD, it will take 4 lanes from a PCI-E X4 slot and you can no longer use that slot. If it's SATA, you might lose a SATA port. Always check carefully before you buy new hardware. For example, you may have a monitor with only a DVI port and you might buy an APU and motherboard with no DVI port at the back.
interesting, i didn't know you had to connect your M.2 SSD into where it doesn't go between #0 Sata Cable, I knew about the performance would be less.. if that was the case, but I didn't understand What others meant that it'll effect performance if you're using 2 SSDS and got a 3rd slot being used by an m.2 SSD. so what you explained is what i needed to understand to why my m.2 SSD was underperforming compared to my Boot Drive for running games.
Thanks for this, on my first build so extremely helpful!!!
на мое компютер нет ета места
Thank you for the clarification... so if I use nvme pcie... I don’t need to worry about sata ports
This! Thank you for the detailed explanation for a guy like me who knows nothing about m.2 ssd's 😂😂
Your CPU COLLING SYSTEM mondel NAME ?
The sata bandwith tip is golden, thanks Tao
