Noctua vs. Arctic, Nidec - Ultimate 120mm Fan Re-match!
Really like this in depth video in how the fan sounds at different speeds, exactly what I wanted!
Which one would you recommend for a mini itx case? I'm planning on using 2 and I prefer lower noise to preformance.
nice mate, thanks!
Hey! I have such fans in my pc is it okay if i dissasemble them to clean them better? And also for my cpu fan is it ok to pop it off the housing, like they won’t get damaged or anything (sorry for the stupid question)
i-plan to use the P14 on my 280mm rads, and for anyone who has any experience or insights. I wanted to keep the P14 fans running at a fixed speed (as quiet as possible) on idle/light tasks and just ramp up when I'm gaming, doing heavy workload. Around what until what temps is it okay to keep a steady and quiet rpm on the radiator fans, and if anyone has any experience, around what range is the P14s quiet/barely audible? im, using an NR200 case if that helps Thank you for this vid!
what is the best arctic fan 120mm for presure in big case please :) ?
i personally dont care about quiet fans. unless they sound very very loud thats when it bothers me
$4 per fan here, in a 5-pack
Great video dude!
People been praising these p14 as the best fans ever. Better than be quiet, noctua, everything... Now that's suspicious and makes me squint
currently thinking about having 3 f12's in the front for intake 1 in the back for exhaust and 2 p14's for my h115i radiator on top as exhaust, ideas or suggestions?
You can’t say the any fan is bad considering your sample size of ONE fan, you will get a dud every once and a while.
Can you test BioniX fans?
Where to buy rubber spacers?
How are the BioniX compared to these normal fans?
gracias por tu trabajo, me quedo con el p12
No quantitative testing of any kind. Useless video.
If I want to use the p12 for intake do I monunt it sticker side or no
Just bought 2 of the Artic P14 140mm fans to replace the worn out fans on my Corsair H115i 280mm Radiator, hopefully they will do the job well. thanks for posting this interesting video, thumbed up :)
how did you just pop it off like that? I can't get mine to come apart.
your bedroom looks like garbage
had 2 of these in addition to 2 cryorig fans, in my previous R5 1600/GTX 1050 ti sysytem. Can't say a bad word about them. Truth to be told i got cause they were quiet, cheap and white. Looked great with my tomahawk arctic board, I wish msi kept on with white board theme
Do you know on the value pack if it has the same thing where you could connect fans to each other?
4 degrees difference for a case fan is amazing...
6:56 "Fan-tastic option." Please tell me that was deliberate. (grin)
You should get better cooling results on a heat sink with the P12 static pressure optimized models. The F12s are not pressure optimized and are better suited as case fans. Also note the PST on the model indicates that it has a power splitter. Models without the PST designation have a regular 3 or 4 pin cable.
What's the difference between standard and pwn
too bad they didnt make the blades out of a better plastic so that they are not so brittle!
just watch out as they will cut the shit out of you if you get your finger to close to the blades and the blades break real easy!.
Somebody on Amazon said the new batches are no longer as good.
Great video. I'd just like to point out that these are F-series fans designed for airflow (case cooling). For a fair comparison test against the Hyper 212 stock fan you'd want to go with the P-series which is pressure-optimized and thus will perform better with a heatsink.
Got the 5 pack pst gonna use them as just case fans which is their primary use I’m sure 3 in the front two on the top and I have downward flow on my cpu might make it upward but then it’s pulling hot air from the gpu so idk this will be great having 3 front fans tho
Wait you can connect multiple fans w each other meaning you only need to plug 1 into your motherboard?
Nice Mora knife
Should try some of these to replace that diesel A/C
Hi! I know it's old video but I have some info for people who want to use more than 4 of these fans connected to one 4pin on motherboard. Each one of the fans has 0.25A, so 5 fans = 1.25A and this means you will burn your mobo fan connector. It can handle up to 1A
If I had 5 of these in s340 elite case for 2 at the front and 3 at the back how would it perform it?
i bought a five pack of these for $25-$26. went from the 2 the case came with , to these five and they are about the same volume if not quieter. got them setup at 30% until my cpu hits 55C.
What would you suggest as more expensive option but with around same noise levels? Looking for some 120mm fans for In win 303
I think since the late 90's, I've never used the fans that came with any case...
How bad is the noise at 1350 rpm?
They are noisy?
I just bought some arctic 80mm case fans for my Acer nitro and they are not working
Are they worth buying? I'm considering these fans for my case because I only have 1 fan right now.
What country are you from?
olam mucho gusto
I have the pwm version but it has alot of vortex which makes it very loud :/
Techscrew i have tow of them in my very big case fan Collection
These Arctic fans are rubbish. Apparently even if you set the rpm manually and the noise dissappears, it can come back later.
I got the Arctic P12 PWM and man they hit that annoying frequency way too frequently. Its like at 900, 1000, and like 1200, too annoying for me. Gonna go with some others. But the P14 PWM are great, no issues for me there.
The Arctic fans are great a value but god that humming is starting to get on my nerves. May have to swap them out for noctuas
Bought the P12's based on this review :) I too get a few specific RPM ranges where the motor is noisy, so try and set the curve to avoid that range. It's annoying, but not enough to make up for the price difference between the the NF-A12X25 and the P12.
Also P14 PWM PST are amazing.. I've overhauled my case with P14 PWM Pst for like 32€ a pack of 5. 26 Eur to completely night-day improve the sound and performance of a 40€Gelid Phantom with dual Arctic Bionix P120 PWM.
Thanks you exactly pinpointed the noise I'm hearing from my arctic freezer 360s. I'm going to put nf 12s on instead.
My corsiar fans started going out and bought a bunch of the artic 140, that howling sound doesn't sound like its from the fan exactly but how the air is entering the case from the fan. Meaning there is some sort of airgap between the fan and case perhaps that causes that sound at that speed. sometimes you have to adjust the fan gap between case and fan itself to get best performance of sound and cooling
The fact that you had never heard of the Arctic fans means you need to step outside of your bubble "of getting the best stuff for free" every now and then, and keep in touch with us common folk. Not everyone can or even wants to spend 30+ dollars on a single fan. Let alone a BROWN one.
One thing that should be noted about the Arctic fans is their frame material is more brittle than the Noctuas. When using standard fan screws with the Arctics, it's easy enough to over tighten them and cause them to start stripping out the screw holes in the frame. Definitely not a great fan if you have to mount and remount the fan multiple times for some reason.
U can saturate the radiator with much higher voltage and still be safe. Thats why I dont think the CPU cooler tests are not accurate because larger AIO will perform noticeably bettter on higher voltage than 1.3-1.35v
I recommend these. make my 240mm arctic liquid freezer ii cool a ryzen 7 5800x pretty good. I recommend front mounting it.
This video is everything you could possibly ask for. Thank you so much!
I just bought 6 Arctic P12's at 4,49eur/p on Amazon. Nothing else can compete. I love Noctua but P12s are black and 1/3 cheaper while delivering near-identical performance. I expect Arctic to release a version with RGB and potentially a quieter motor, this will be a huge shakeup. I'm a fan.
I bought a pair of $20 Noctuas for my H100iV2. MUCH quieter than the original fans. I had to remove 9 of the rubber corner pads to get them to fit though, and I bundled the corners together with a small cable tie.. My cat loves it..
I absolutely love the Gentle Typhoons. I have 4 running push-pull on a Cooler Master ML240R cooling a R5 3600x and the CPU is stone cold at idle. Temps at idle about 28C and under load running Forza on an all core OC of 4.7 GHz around 58-60C. Absolutely quiet.
I just ordered 5x arctic p12 for 21.7€ delivery included, thats 10€ less than one nf-a12, the decision of what to buy wasnt too hard.
Please do a slim-fan comparison, would be super helpful for your SFF fanbase.
Still working trough a box of Yate loons I bought in 2004. In 24/7 operation they last me about 8 years in the racks. Not bad for 2 bucks each.
These are the fans you should get for an old aio instead of noctua they cost fuck all
I came here from the recent Thermaltake copycat video. I'd much rather buy these Arctic fans here.
