Well honestly if you're someone who has only ever had low end android tablets this "budget" iPad is perfect. As a 16 year old I don't need an iPad Pro, I literally use my iPad for procreate, videos, and Facebook, and no shit the iPad Pro is better, not everyone needs a powerhouse of a tablet.

Had a 9.7 inch IPad Pro with the keyboard and Apple Pencil for 4 years and it’s probably the best product i have ever bought. Seen me through 4 years of an Open University distance learning law degree.

This is still really good in 2020, even better with iOS 13 lol. I’m in college and the Apple Pencil and Smart Keyboard makes it really good for doing work.

Just finished Monument Valley 1 & 2, and came back to this review because the music sounded familiar to me. and voilà! I was a proud owner of the 9.7 iPad Pro before I gifted to someone else. Gorgeous speakers, gorgeous design, gorgeous screen. It’s a wonderful computer, even today. It hasn’t aged a day. With iPadOS, it’s even better. I would appeal to any school principal to not be an idiot by buying this if you’re thinking of getting your staff to use something like Microsoft Teams. There are “compatibility” issues everywhere and the teacher ends up with a headache of IT issues to resolve when they should be allowed to focus on their teaching. This review badly needs to address the extensive “compatibility” issues that result from the Apple-Windows war. Particularly in Lockdown this has been the cause of much stress in online teaching. Additionally, you’ll frequently find that sites like Youtube struggle to open with so little memory in this device so the most common thing you’ll see on your screen is an “error” message.

Lol it lagged - once when he tried to scroll down with the pencil and had to use the finger and then when multitasking view was on he had to tap 2 times on the respective app to get it to be selected

I have made this my go to computer. In fact I’ve sold my desktop and don’t use my laptop any more as 99% of what I want a computer to do can be done on this iPad. It’s a wonderful machine. Every home should own one.

The pencil can be pricey but to be honest if we really think about it it has its own benefits too. You’re not only saving the trees but also save a lot of money in the future. Just imagine how much money you spent buying pencils for a whole 12 years of school not including college and preschool and the paper we wasted

And make sure to check out PaperLike 2 to eliminate fingerprints + add an incredible Apple Pencil experience had a newer iPad Pro that I paid $800 for and it wasn’t compatible with my schoolwork. Sold it and got a laptop but missed procreate. Just snagged a 2016 IPad Pro 9.7 and Apple Pencil for a little under $200 and love it.

I still have this today cuz 2020 made me broke and I can't afford a new one. I use an Apple Pencil to take notes and unfortunately, the 3rd party note-taking apps are getting slower, namely OneNote and Paper. The Apple Notes app that comes with iOS still works great though. However, I don't use the Apple notes app, so, I am basically f-ed. And I am hoping to get a new iPad soon. Surprisingly, besides hand notetaking and gaming, this iPad is still very smooth, and the battery is still kinda good. Still, can't wait to get a new one.
Use mine for college all day every day. it’s still the beast that it was when I bought it!

I have this very model, as well as the Apple magnetic keyboard. At the beginning of the year, I was thinking of upgrading it to the latest iPad Pro, but just for the sake of it, as the 9.7’’ was still great. I ended up not upgrading and have not regretted for a minute. Some models fairly older than this one will not run the latest iOS but it’s not the case here. I still see no point in spending another thousand bucks for basically a better display and more speed that in all honesty you won’t even notice in a new device.

Dude this thing still going 80% as strong and is as speedy as when I bought it in 2016! Like, yes, the new iPads are ofc faster, but not as much as people think. I really never have almost no stutters, no frame drops, no lag. What more do you want? I am going to use this at least 2 years more. Currently I don’t need the new Apple Pencil and the bigger and better display. Only reason to switch would be those 2 things.
