How do i know if it's charging
I can’t get it to run my internet modem/router in a power outage. It runs other things, just not the router. Any specific way to connect the router other than plugging it into the unit? Other troubleshooting ideas? I feel like I’m missing something.
How much does the battery lasts until the unit shut down?
any review about cyberpower ? 1050va
Some printers yes, many printers NO, especially a laserjet of ANY kind. Better just monitor, PC and very light stuff like phone, router, switch, etc. Thank you for this video.
I specifically wanted to see how to connect the inside battery. The instructions say it sparks a bit and that it's "normal", but how much sparking is normal?
How long does it take to fully charge??
How many watts is it
How long does it take for it to fully charge?
If i were to plug a computer (always on), xbox (off until needed) router/modem and a tv on battery and a regular standing lamp on surge only would that over load this specific UPS?
Suggestion.. create a playlist of similiar videos and leave a link to it and pin it. Should help with views and watch time. Good Luck with your channel.
How do you charge the unit?
Very informative thanks
Thanks for the video, mine is connected to my TV and recently I discovered that it could not hold more than 2 minutes after a power down. Now I know that I can change its battery for another 3 years lifetime.
A most important issue . You took apart the ups before fully testing it . Bad , bad , bad .
You have No idea of the state of the machine , before tinkering with it .
After putting it back toether , if it hadn't worked . Did it arrive broken ?
or did it get broken by the tinkering ?
All i can sya is : BN450M performs like a true ups when using battery : CSB GP 1272 F2 this is the 7.2 ah battery , price 24 bucks .
The battery date , was made in late july of 2020 , so it is about 6 months on the store shelf ,...pretty good and pretty new .
When your BN450M is Out of Warranty and you need a new battery for it,
then connect the above listed battery and you will be amazed at how good the BN450M performs .
Do this at your own discression . If you can change a car battery you should be able to do this :
Turn OFF the ups and unplug from the wall outlet .
Remove the Yellow jumper( which disconnects the Black wire from the battery ) , now remove the back panel and remove
the internal Leoch battery .
Drill 2 quarter inch holes in the back panel where you will feed the 2 lugs through . Put the back panel back on .
Put "Piggy Back" lugs on the CSB battery's Spades and
bend the 2 Piggy Back Spades to face the ups back panel .
The Ups will need to sit higher then the battery for the wires\lugs to Line Up .
Plug in the battery . ( Red to Red , Black to Black )
now insert the Yellow jumper .
charge as needed .
I recommend keeping the ups power button OFF , and let the ups charge the battery for at least 4 hours .
That will keep the ups PCB Pirnted Circuit Board cooler , while charging for the first time .
The battery voltage is now very easy to measure with a DVM .
F2 are 1/4 quarter inch lugs .
page 8 , in the user manual :
"The battery in the Back-UPS is NOT user-replaceable. Contact SEIT Technical support for a list of authorized service centers near you"
taking it to a service center , not a recycle facility . Service center implies Change the Battery .
Read the book . don't make stuff up .
Buying stragedy :
Already have a BN450M ? is yes , and it works . just put a larger battery in it . CSB GP 1272 F2 7.2 ah or CSB 12120 F2 12 ah.
i don;t want it to run for 1 hour . just long enough to shut the stuff off , wall unplug everything , and wait for power to come back on .
That Lecoch original battery is minimum
and as you said , as batteries reduce in capacity , we need to start with a bettery battery .
again ALL APC ups have 3 minute runtime at Their max load , including BX1500 .
No where does the manual say the BN450M is disposable throw away , when the battery dies , No Where does it say that.
BN450M is meant to have the battery replaced .
It says the Owner consumer should NOT replace it , no doubt as a safety concern .
The BN450M is 100 % re-usble with a New battery , just like any UPS is .
The manual says : "standard policy is to send out a referbished uint to replace a failed UPS" .
you pay to ship the faild unit to them . they pay to ship a referbished unit to you.
All the above is in the user manual , in English .
When you first turned on your unit in your video , you did NOT read the Yellow sticker
and you did NOT connect the black battery wire to the battery , using the Yellow jumper on the back panel
that is why the UPS faild on first power up . Operator Error .
All the above is why i added an extra Thumbs Down . count is now at 22 .
BN450M is a good ups .
if you need more runtime around the 200 watt range and you already own BN450M
just replace the battery with a larger battery . 7.2 ah with F2 Lugs works awesome .
The other unit is gonna get a 12 ah battery with F2 Lugs .
CSB GP 12720 F2 , about 24 usd
CSB GP 12120 F2 , about 40 usd
The original battery is 4.5 ah
I thought in pass I was aware you can change out battery. Why is it the stores show replacement if you can't replace. I just bought the apc 650v from OfcDepot. First few days I had odd odor in home. Unplugged everything for 1-wk. Plugged in for a week and did not have an odor, so plugged in items
again. Now weekend before Capitol Attack slowly odor started again. Been 3-4 days and gotten worse so unplugged all again. Will wait and if odor goes away, will try to return for refund. I have a
CyberPower and have no problems with odors. Thanks for your tutorial opening battery.
Thanks, just what I needed to know if buying these used is a worthwhile idea. Looks like they are fine to buy used (and replace the battery).
Nice detective work
Could you hook one of these up to a car battery by chance?
hahaha reminds me of the time I ripped open one of those desposable filn cameras and got zapped with the flash capacitor and also learned that it took regular old film too. Good times.
Really appreciate the demonstration. Glad to see that the battery is easily replaceable. Thank you for completing the procedure with the proof of operation!
This was very helpful, thank you!
Ok? What's the time frame on this battery if I'm running a cb radio on it as a back up? Thanks
I just got one today and plug in and after 30 minutes started to beeps and red and green light . Fuse is installed and pluged in the wall. what a hell?
I plan to buy APC BX650LI-MS, and I live here in the Philippines. My biggest concern with this product is its input connection which is NEMA 5-15P (Three-Pronged Plug). The electrical outlets at my house are Type-A (Parallel Flat Blades Socket).
Is it safe to use a cheater plug or universal adapter so I can plug the UPS into the Type-A Outlet???
I want to use the UPS to power backup my PS4 Slim just in case power goes out.
Have a BE425M that gave up the ghost. Since the terminals at the battery were putting out 13.79 volts and the battery terminals when disconnected I got under 6 volts I took a chance and ordered a replacment battery for under 20 bucks. Arrived today. The battery fit like a good glove. And it's ALIVE!. Watching the video convinced me to fix it instead of sending it to a recycling center. It is now backing up the power to my router extender/backup and printer.
Super helpful. Thank you
Mine lasted less than a year. The battery is still good.
What about that yellow plug underneath?
Hi Bill, picked one of these up today for backing up my Modem, router, and switch. I have a CyberPower Pure Sine Wave on the iMac. The new physical setup requires two separate UPS systems as the components are no longer physically able to share one UPS now. I finally got to the bottom of my flickering lights and strange UPS behavior. My circuit breaker had suffered damaged and the apartment complex had to higher electricians to replace it and clean up the burned wiring. They also had to pull the meter, which normal maintenance wasn't able to do, because they got scared as the meter didn't pull out instantly when they tried. Turns out the newer digital meters can be harder to pull vs the older ones. Either way I seem to have clean power now, and all is quiet.
American Power Conversion.. more like Chinese Manufacturing Conversion
Can i just use one of these as a power bank for when i go camping or something ?
20min? might as well buy a car battery and an inverter for same price, but for hours not minutes of run time.
Hello, I thought this product would attract your attention both for its intended use and for its price.
Excellent review - thank you! I have a 2014 27" iMac - Only 8min until the battery is low... This is a non rechargeable battery right?
Hey I just got mine plugged it in but nothing that plug into the battery and surge outlets works. Do I really need to charge a battery for 24 hours? And yes I plug in the battery inside
You've been a big help thanks!
man getting that cover back on was a Pain..
Can it charge
Who turn on the alarm?
does a pc need to be connected all the time for the software to be of use? specifically the graceful shutdown.
I have this and mine just turned my pc off and started beeping and I turn it off and then on and it starts beeping again and won’t work so I can’t get on my pc Becuase I only have 1 outlet in my room it sucks
is this good for a ps4?
hey man been a little over a year since you did this video, any issues with this UPS system sine purchase? Also is there any mounting holes in this? The smaller models have keyholes in them for mounting
Can it also be used for power strip for home use?
I have a small question should i leave it on always or just when the lights go off?? And if it’s not on would it still be able to work??? Or should i always leave the power button on
how big of 1 of these do i need to use on my computer to run it for little while? and how big of 1 should i get to run my wifi modem? thanks
Thank you for sharing this information. Happy Holidays!
Is this good enough for a homelab? and is battery replaceable?
And can it run consoles when the powers on or it won't turn on when it's plugged in
This may be a dumb question, is this UPS good for my phone service which is through my cable company. Because when the power goes off, our phone service doesn't work.
I' like to get mine to beep (wake me up) when the power goes off at night, but how do you activate that beep? (Tried everything in the manual and can't get the "flashing amber" light to indicate beep is now on. Thanks
Does this unit have software to shutdown PC or other devices? If so does the pc have to connected to it all the time to shutdown other devices is it ok after setting it up once.
