that thin cable worries me. i have had bad experiences with wire earbuds with thin cable frailing or breaking. this brand is popular or making braided usb or lightning cables, they goofed up not making the cable braided and beefier

So it's long press for volume and single press for track change? Seriously considering this. I was kinda "married" to Sony but the XB80BS failed to impress and wasn't as user friendly as the SBH70. The coating is electronic conformal coating you can purchase the same stuff for hobby use if you want. I use mg-chemicals acrylic conformal coating it's good for extreme heat and cold and completely waterproofs electronics.

Anker Soundcore Spirit are very good hadphones. I use them with Huawei mate 10 pro and they sound great. I also have a pair of earbuds on the wire that support high rez audio, it's about huawei cmq3 headphones, and compared to these Anker headphones don't sound any worse. I highly recommend them! Very good build quality, beatiful design, greate battery life, excelent audio sound quality and all these with a low price.
