I like the kindle paperwhite. While reading for a long time it's comfortable. But while I'm reading in public my kindle wasn't highlighted. For it's highlighted look I applied a ebony wood skin from gadgetshieldz.
The only thing that the Kindle doesn't handle well are PDFs, and converting from PDF to .mobi is just a hit or miss thing because most of the time it comes with broken lines and cut words; the most reliable format to convert from is EPUB using the free tool "kindlegen" (a command-line program).
Better open a cooking channel on youtube. You cannot review any device property

Was given to my son as gift on Dec 31 2019. October 31, 2020 it died. Sucks. And since it was bought by relatives in the US and we are in Asia, theres nothing that we could do...even though the warranty should have been good at that time. It's so slow and laggy. I cant even put pdfs in it because it would just freeze the device. I wish we got one of those BrandX made in China tablets instead. Because if those broke down, I wouldnt be surprised and it would have been value for the money.

It's nice that it's $95 in the US but in the EU it's €139.99 (=169.90 USD). I'm not sure what justifies the ~+80% price difference :(
Is it actually e-ink , better on the eyes than the other kindle devices or does it just look that way?

I was a little disappointed you didn't actually review the product, show it in action or tell us what it does, or how it works. - can you browse the web, get email? is the screen laggy? Can I use ebooks from Project Gutenberg? You did talk a lot about the Amazon return policy though.
Hey nice video, I have been using Kindles 10 years now. Never buying a physical book again. I live ina country where bestsellers or latest releases do not arrive in physical. So this changed my life.

I have ordered a Paperwhite but have not yet received it. I also have the Kindle App on my Android tablet. If I purchase a Kindle book from Amazon and have it "sent" to my Paperwhite is there any way that I can also have reading access to that particular book on my Android tablet? In other words, can I buy one book and read it on both the Paperwhite and the Android? If that is possible, how would I go doing so?

10/14/2020 Amazon Prime Day today. Got one for $80. Regular price $130. My wife has had a Paperwhite for about 5 or 6 years and she loves it. Now that I have one of my own I won't have to pack 2 or 3 books in my suitcase when we go on vacation. I have the Kindle App on my Android tablet but it is impossible to read in bright sunlight. I also ordered a cover for it from Amazon. Looking forward to getting it.

I bought a used Samsung tab 4 for 30$ and really great for reading books and comics, it have a bigger screen than the kindle and you can get books from wherever you want.
Just to be clear this is the 4th paperwhite NOT the 4th generation it's the 8th generation hope this helps someone and yes the paperwhite is on the far left 🙂

I wish it really was paperwhite, that you would not need the frontlight during the day. It's so dark compared to a real book. With the amount of money Bezos makes and the pretty high cost of this very small device, I'm pretty sure they could develop the technology to make it close to a real book. Like many I'm in front of a computer screen all day, I'd love to read without needing this artificial light. If I had the money for real books and the shipping costs, I'd go with real books. I think the technology just isn't good enough yet.
If only the paperwhite was in the form of the entry-level, with all paperwhite ingenuity intact. It's as though amazon just stepped backwards in design for the waterproofing sake, with more bezels and heavier kindle branding. Not forward-thinking in terms of style but pretty feature-heavy for the paper white. Guess that's fine either way.

To set-up the kindle device, and I don't have credit card, is it a big problem?
With now backlight in the normal version, there is no need to opt for paperwhite imo. The ppi difference is barely noticeable and couldn't be pointed out unless you are told which one is better.
Im trying to decide between these two right now and I really cant decide. Will probably for for the paperwhite only because of the added storage.

Oh my wise community, I need an ereader that has/can: front light( no lamp near my bed) because i read at night, able to read comics/manga, able to upload ebooks from my pc instead of paying to download from some online library, external memory is welcome. thx in advance
