Been a long time I’ve had the strings just hadn’t gotten to it. Followed this vid and works like a charm. Guitar sounds great. I might’ve left a just a bit too much on the 6th string since it’s so thick with multiple winds but it still worked out well. Should’ve done this a while ago

What does he mean by the last tip where he says "and as I mentioned, for the wound strings you don't wanna overlap on the peg but actually for the unwound strings you wanna have your first winding above the inserted string in the peg and the second (wind around the peg) below. This will hold the strings in place & they're fit enough that it won't affect the tuning" I'm kind of stupid so bare with me hahaha But it confused me because I don't know what he means by the wound strings and the unwounded strings. It makes me unsure of what procedure to follow for the winding on which strings. Could someone please clarify what he means by this and possibly explain it to me like I'm 5 years old because I am not the brightest and I don't understand what he means. I would very much appreciate the breakdown and advice

So I changed my strings for the first time. Everything went well. When I went to put it away, keep in mind I didn’t cut the remaining piece of string at the tuning peg, so I grabbed my guitar from the neck, then I touched the headstock forgetting I didn’t cut the string completely. Guess what? The High E String literally PUNCTURED my palm. That was very damn painful. Blood just started comin out ha. that hurt a lot
Seriously? No mention of the need to stress the strings to have good tuning during the life span of the new strings? Quite strange.
Eh, I'm just going to buy a new guitar instead.
