Just got this unit for basic practice. I noticed that the ride is a bit of a joke. If you hit it every slightly too hard you get a bell tone. So is there any way to stop that from happening. At this point the ride is virtually useless.

Will the drum set work without the USB?
The double pedal only works if they are really close together, but if they are more than about an inch apart the double pedal wont work

Truth be told, this kit is garbage. I've had this for a while now and there are multiple issues with these Alesis kits. The triggers are faulty, the playing surface is very unrealistic and the cymbals will make you wanna burn the kit. Don't get me wrong, it's a cheap affordable kit for people who are just starting to learn the drums. But if you have any experience behind the kit and are planning to purchase a kit to brush up on your overall technique, you will be greatly disappointed if you buy this kit. Bottomline- It's a great kit if you are a beginner but if you are an intermediate or a professional drummer, you will hate this kit.

This answers the question of does dual zone snare triggering actually work on a DM6. Fiancee blindly purchased a Burst kit for Christmas for me. Bless her soul, she did not realize a Turbo Mesh was just a few dollars more, but man I'm in love with it. I can play at home now. Anyway it's been a continuing series of successful and unsuccessful upgrades since I got it. Added a DM kick drum tower to replace the awful switch pedal and that has been amazing comparatively. A seller on Ebay advertised the same 9" snare that is included with the Burst as a dual zone which it was NOT. Spent $80.00 on a spare single zone pad basically. Let the seller know and they still disagree with me. They insist it is dual zone and my snake or module must be malfunctioning. Getting an actual dual zone turbo mesh snare tomorrow and that will be the final upgrade to this kit. A module upgrade is not possible due to 1/8" TR mono connectors on the toms . I use it as a USB MIDI interface for Addictive Drums 2 complete and I'm seriously missing my rim shots. Thanks for the demo.

how did you bring the snare closer to the middle?
Quite late but a heads up - the difference between Studio Drummer Lite vs Full is only playback quality, rather than number of drums - Full has a feature called round robin which makes things sound less repetitive when doing consecutive hits :)

I paid $40 dlls for this drum set: my friend bought it for his daughter but she lost interest and they had it in their garage for a while, one day I saw it and asked my friend if he'd sell it to me, he just told me to give him $40 dlls. I like the feeling of the pads, the module is shitty but I use it as a MIDI trigger and works great for me, I record my songs with it

Early on in this video there were a load of naff novelty sounds. Along with one patch that had a couple of really nice drum sounds ruined by daft sounds coming off the cymbals. Near the end of the 15 main patches some actual drum kit sounds that are at least usable started to come along. So glad I carried on watching. As I would totally discount this kit completely otherwise.
