Kinky cable ;D
they only cost 90 - 120 euros in germany / europe at thomann.de imo they outmatch nearly everything for allround usage at that price
*_Awesome💠⚫>_**_JustU.Faith/AKG-Pro?殊_**_ They are very neutral, damn good for mixing and mastering. The sound is spacious, clean and clear, small concert style sound. Detailed, I can hear every thing recorded masterfully, all your mess ups will be heard so you can mix better. For reference heaphones these are a steal at the price. Easily contend with higher priced hp._*
I purchased these cans and don’t regret it at all!! Mhh32452
Lachlanlikesathing just wondering what your thoughts are if using these headphones with a creative soundblasterx g5 amp on a ps4pro. Thank you
comparing studio headphones to normal headphones is like comparing pizza and shoes. you should know better..
Is the k612 sounds better than dt880 with gaming and jazz ???
I wish more reviewers do what you did in this video. Super objective, recognized preference, professional delivery. I've seen too many reviews, specifically when it comes to tech, where people either over glorify or just act childish and petty about a product. Thank you
you might have alot of time in listening to headphones,,you should relisten to the 612 they are great and the price brings them home, sorry bro from downunder.mhh 32452
Do i need a amp to use these headphones with my pc
What? The k612 Pro here is 130 which is like 150 dollars..?
what amp/dac do you use?
Hola! This headphone is good for gaming?
Nice review Lachlan! Definitely considering these as they do very well for gaming too. Keep up the great work!
hey there, great review for headphones! i want to know by your oppinion regarding the soundstage for ad700x vs this akg k612 pro. Please give a rating like maximum for soundstage is 10 for ad700x and 9 for akg k612 pro for example. Thank you in advance
I was thinking of pulling the plug on these for gaming. I want deep bass and quality mids and highs, and open air to pinpoint sounds in games. Your comment on the weak mids is making me say no. Any recommendation for the ultimate bassy open air phones?
Would this be a solid headphone for mixing?
This VS. the AD700X for gaming? I want to immerse myself in the games, yet be able to pinpoint sound locations (Isn't that in itself, immersion anyway?)
Hi, I fell in love with the overall sound signature of the Sennheiser HD 650, yet I find them quite pricey, since I feel that AKG headphones (recently tested the Q701) generally offer more detail.
How does the K612 compare to the HD 650? Will it offer a similar sound experience? Here in Germany the K612 only cost half as much as the HD 650s. I would like to use them as a general purpose headphone for music, movies and gaming.
First of all, for those who nitpick that these bleed, of course they do! They are open back! That out-of-the-way, let me say that these headphones are simply amazing. For normal people, with normal pockets, these sound really really good! As long as you have something that will Power them up really well, you were going to love them. Just don’t expect them to have a lot of volume if you’re only using them with your phone or computer. They need more juice!
Having said that, the lows are incredibly vivid and just right. The mids are exemplary And the highs sound very detailed. But, let me tell you the greatest thing in my opinion about these cans… They are incredibly comfortable and you will not want to take them off.
Now to keep this real, are they the best headphones in the world, probably not. Are they perfect, no. But, with the right amount of power, these will sound as good as anything you can throw at them, Including the top brands in the field of sound engineering.
A review? Stop being misleading with your video names. Basically you spend 8 minutes modding a cable.
Changing the wire, changes the sound! Reference heaphones are designed with a specific wire and isolation. This isn't a review of the actual headphone.
Is the 612 soundstage larger than the mmx 300?
One shitty thing about these akg´s are that rubberband tends to break after a year or so that does not happen with audio technica piveted headband. Otherwise by em they are wonderfull
The best review and unboxing I have seen! Thank you so much!. In your experience for mastering and mixing which is better this 612 or dt 990 pro 250 ohm?.
Akg k612 pro and fiio e10k?
They should release 612.5 Pro with a possibility to change the cable.
This backlog is real handy Jerry, Thank you!
thank you!! I think I'll buy these - especially for the price...
hopefully they are more neutral than my ATH m50 (which have enhanced bass)
Going to replace my Void with these and a Modmic.(Void wants to fly off my head when I move)
I bought this 90 euro, after 80 model this is the best
Sonarworks based EQ filter for AKG K612 pro. It mainly tones down the piercing treble around 6Khz. For use with free Equalizer APO. Copy and paste inside a blank txt file and drop it into APO's "config" folder. Then open config.txt(same folder) and type: Include: "filename".txt.

The reason for the low output is because of them being a studio head set, used for recording studios and radio presenter
Why does so many people buy studio headphones for gaming, that’s such a retarded thing to do...
Try grado rs2e
So how would these be for gaming on ps4? So just plugged into the controller? Or use a amplifier still?
this review made me so excited to buy these...3 years later lol
I remember them not actually being better than or even on par in all areas with the AKG K550 although these are closed (which I don't like very much). You say they are "actually" by Harman, so could different "AKG"s have different backgrounds? Hm. (I know they are partly distributed by or under the hood of Harman.) My Sennheiser HD600 are reeeaaally boring after a while, but I got them used, when everyone said they could hardly be topped (after lots and lots of comparing and deliberation), and so I would have had to resell them to get a higher class AKG at the time. I definitely would otherwise still have checked out the K701 otherwise.
who's this fucking cringelord
Great video Jerry. I have the AKG K702s. These are the best headphones I have, as the sound of the vocals and instruments are separated and so clear. I listen to all kinds of music from Classical, Rock, Jazz to Trance. You are right, they are the most comfortable ever. I just wish I had discovered these earlier and saved some coin, by not buying bass heavy crap.
l don't know why, but this older intro is really freaking me out right now.
How's this cans holding this 2017? still good? Anyway compared to sennheiser momentums and ath-m50x, which of the three is better in overall sound quality?
