I was so noob when i buy e575G. I use serial number to check my laptop spec in acer site. it write graphics controller-nvidia geforce 940mx Resolution 1920 × 1080. Intel just a cpu. Then open nvidia control panel only hv option 3d settings & physx change. Confuse that time. I thought nvidia 940mx my display. After research & research on internet. Now i understand integrated & dedicated laptop. I uninstall geforce experience. Totaly useless. service always running even not all feature support ansel / shadow play/.
Hi, thanks for this. I have a question. I have the same Acer aspire laptop e5-575G-596Q i5-7th gen 4gb Ram 1TB with nvidia GeForce 940mx 2gb dedicated VRAM. Full Hd and 12 hrs battery. Is this the same as your laptop? Question is, I am planning to upgrade its ram to 8gb. The system properties says the frequency of ram is 2133 MHz, so I ordered a 4gb ram ddr4 2133mhz. but when I opened my laptop, the installed ram is 2400 MHz frequency. Do I need to buy 2400 MHz? Or is the 2133 MHz can be used as my other ram? Thanks for the reply.

Hey, about the tray on the side of the notebook its for a dvd drive. This model do not come with one, but if you disassemble it you can see that the motherboard has a free slot. So you can buy one and plug it in.

I have the 575 non g version which is i3 and don't have dedicated graphic card and ssd but have m.2 slot and extra ram slot, I'd say this laptop is pretty damn good for it's $350 price, the only complain is its screen using TN panel which is pretty washed out color and limited viewing angle I guess it's a trade off for 1080p screen, and the speakers are horrible but it can be fixed by using a headphone

Congrats on this laptop MJD. I have an Acer Aspire E5-575-54FX, which is a laptop that came out of a Best Buy store here in Canada in Late 2016. Unfortunately, the graphics on mine is for those people who are not into PC Gaming, which would be me. You'll see why when I explain my specs. Yes, I realize that these laptops, it's made out of plastic, which you are correct. My specs: Intel Core i5 6200U 2 Core 4 Thread CPU Clocked at 2.3GHZ With Turbo Boost up to 2.8GHZ 8GB DDR4 RAM Intel HD Graphics 520 with 4160MB of Dynamic Video Memory, 128MB Dedicated Video Memory 1TB Hard Drive, No SSD unfortunately. 1366x768 15.6" Display 6:46 The blank spot on the right side, would have been a spot to put in a optical drive, the same is with my laptop, no optical drive. Since internet streaming media is getting really popular, optical drives are no longer being included in newly made laptops, unfortunately. So what if you need to re-install Windows 10? There should be a recovery partition on the hard drive, that includes a copy of Windows 10, but with Acer's bloatware, which you can freely uninstall yourself though. Either that or, I don't know if these laptops can accept booting off of a USB Drive. Hmm.
Like everyone else said, the thing on the side is to put a dvd drive. In your case, though, there is probably an adapter and one of the two storage drives

I love how with these acer e5 laptops have an m.2 SSD and a spot to add a hard drive. I have the 17 inch version of this and have added a 1TB hard drive in addition to the 256 GB ssd. It is quite a nice laptop for under 600$ Like you I got mine on black friday 2016

I have an e5-575g-57d4 and it is excellent, it has a GeForce 940mx with 2gb of dedicated vram and it runs games amazingly I can run pubg, fortnite, fallout 4 and others at medium to high settings. I recommend one of these kinds of laptops to anyone looking for a budget gaming laptop. Mine also has a slightly better processor and a dvd drive( that is what that blank space is in ur laptop) and it was only like 580$ which is quite amazing these laptops are very good and underrated. 1 complaint I do have is that it only has a 256 gb ssd which is sort of small and the track pad is a little weird

I have this laptop, can it suppprts this ram- . Can you please comment on the display. I presently use a HP 8540w and I find that the brightness is high (that hurts my eye) and the contrast is low.
