Top 5 Best Framing Hammer Review in 2021
What Hammer Does a Carpenter Use? (Every Hammer I've Owned)
Before You Use A Claw Hammer Watch This ( All The Pro Tips You Didn't Know About )
16 oz Dalluge Titanium Framing Hammer
the fatmax is absolute trash
Trash video. So many things wrong with it but I'm not wasting more time than I already have thru watching this. Comedy gold tho!
No stilettos!?
Lol I didnt expect that Stanley to be on there. I only have it because it was the most decent hammer available at the time
I am sure many old school carpenters and their apprentices will vote for the classic US made Stilleto 20 oz straight claw framer with wooden handle. It is a sweet tool with good steel, nice weight and balance. As far as this video emphasizing "prying" with wooden handle hammer, it's ridiculous. Have you ever seen a rookie quickly crack a nice wooden handle trying to pry something; worse yet a fool that borrows a professionals hammer and proceeds to crack the handle or beat down the corrugation pounding on steel..
my fave hammer is the ddtdptpdptpdpt420696969696
Nailed it! 😁
My brother and I are laughing our asses off at the long names of these hammers. I love this video. Comedy gold
I started as an apprentice for my Dad 53yrs ago, I am retired now, he gave me the choice of starting with a 20oz or a 24oz hammer & he suggested I go with the 24oz which I did and I got used to it in no time, I have had 2 eastwings since then but the leather does rot with the sweat and hard wood work here in Australia, the original eastwing was great and had the best claw steel, but the second one the claw was too soft and couldn't stand up to the years of work.
I can't believe I lost the magnet in half a day of work, the first day of use
Wish I had a dalluge hammer...very nice
EIGHTY BRITISH POUNDS!?!?!?!?!? OVER $100 US for an Eswing hammer!?!?!? And don't get me wrong... your videos are great, you are a great guy and you are 100 times the carpenter I am, but if those calculations are right that is crazy. Those Eswings are about $25 and $30 in the US. Wooden handles are great, but Vaughn makes a composite handle titanium and so does Stilleto. Same kind of claw and they are really baddass hammers! Thanks for your videos... they are excellent!!!
I use a 20 Oz Stainless Douglas. Looks like that Dalluge. It has a smooth face. I would like to have a go with a titanium dalluge. Nail pulling with the Douglas is best done with the face puller. It gives 3 different leverages. Do they make a dalluge with a smooth face?
Estwing, real carpenters use Estwing hammers.
🤔 the wife says "everything's a hammer" 🔨
Aere
I swung a hammer for 35 years. After having several I finally settled on a Vaughn 20 oz. with a fiberglass shaft. I could sink nails all day and not have a fatigued forearm. I still have that hammer.
The most I've seen either of those Estwings sell for here in the USA is 30USD.
As soon as you said, it’s about a hundred bucks, I left.
Showed up with a framing hammer to my finish carpentry job and the superintendent looked at me so crazy 😜
You know, seeing those hammers it reminded me of my late grandfather’s last words, “What are you doing with that hammer”.........
Making of Thor Hammer of silver Gold https://youtu.be/4JfpRc0plnw
Pwn Hammer of course
I bought the Vaughan. Avoid it. I returned it after an hours work. The handle is a very poor fit. The titanium (?) head is soft and the claw was badly deformed after pulling around 15 short steel nails out of blockwork. Back to my 15 y/o Stanley..
Did someone buy out Douglas?
Just by a nailgun it’s simple and more effective
That Vaughan is sold as a "Dalluge" but was actually invented by a Company called Douglas that sold them thee Design, so if you want a ocd crazy quality one the polished Douglas is the one to get for 180usd instead of 150usd.
I prefer a wooden handle hammer. It's just what I started with, better for your elbow. Hammer's should be cheap and replaceable. I like the Daluge 21 oz framer if I'm framing.
The best cheap claw hammer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHsgN3Qh2r8
Nice video Dave
Great tips.
best hammer for framing.
hi great vid could you shorten the handle if you wanted say 1.5 inches
Kia ora koutou, from Auckland, New Zealand …
I've had the Dalluge 232-C8 for a few months now and just love it. It has what I call a hatchet handle (curved at end) I didn't think I'd like it but now I really do. It's 14 oz, I can generally drive a 16d in two swats. One if my wheaties are kicking in... I've never owned a Stilletto or any other really high end hammer....I was looking for something easier on my elbow for framing and this has worked for me. I'm not a fulltime framer but do a fair amount of framing on a monthly basis....just my opinion....thanks
Says he doesn’t like the hammer, hammered with it at least 5 times better than the Stiletto and he loves the stiletto
Nice
This is a rip off of the Douglas hammer, just buy Douglas, Martinez or estwing everything else is a toy
Loved the video very ownest very professional.
"Duh-loo-gee" ffs it says it on the hammer.
$150 hammer made in China.
Keep up the tool videos, appreciate the good info.
I used to use a Dallage titanium but I never really liked it. The head loosens up on the handle and tightening the bolts doesn't help after a while. Plan on back up handles. I never felt it was heavy enough to MOVE wood and ear grabbing 2x material was never really effective with it. The handle nail protection (elongated head in the handle) is a nice touch but the handle eventually either gets loose or nicked and will need replacement. I personally don't use it anymore because I felt it was too flimsy for me. I always had a backup Estwing nearby. I now have two Martinez titanium hammers and am quite satisfied with them. I can chop, separate, move and transport without hesitation. I use them for light demo as well... something I would not have dared doing with the Dalluge.
If you leave the nail slotted in the side puller and then rotate around to pull from the head or claws you have better leverage. Love this hammer at the price for titanium with a side puller. Under $90 with free shipping on eBay
It's a Douglas style handle. Let me know what you think of the handle. I've mowed around the idea of getting a handle like that. Also I know you can get the replacements at Parr Lumber and HD supply
What kind of shirt is that?
