Hey I bought it 4 years later now! and have to say its great piece of tech and it was future proofed back in 2017. I mean when I bought it 4 years later I did not have a single complaint. I mean I can edit directly on the ssd it has super fast read write speed.

I have one, opened it yesterday set it up to hold a windows 10 ISO install thing, go to use it and it says it only has 30GB total space, yesterday it was 500 GB. click on FORMAT? 30GB

i can get an hdd and compromise a couple minutes speed for 5tb only 110 dollars ssd arent worth it unless you absolutely need the speed and cant afford to sacrifice

Fun fact, 3 years later review. Be careful with your usb c cables, the only good ones seem to be the ones this drive came with. So dont get it mixed up with ur phone n stuff.

As long as your portable hard drive is SSD you're in the clear. It's worth the extra money knowing all your backups aren't going to fail in a year when you will likely need it.

Hi Nic wonder if you can help me I have one of these drives and have used it since 2009, now it looks like the drivers i used have gone as when pluging in cant see required drivers. Old pc running XP HE. tried to find the drivers no joy. Any chance you could let me have a copy, wife want all of our family pics on another device and im dead meat if i cant get this sorted ! attention dont buy all maxtor/ all seagate hard drive, after 3 year my hard drive guarantee is end and my two hard drive dead and data lost 9 TB dont trust this shit*you dont saved your data ,you lost it. i am very angry:(((((!
