I wanted to thank you and tell you that I couldn't have done it without you. But it appears that I have NOT done it yet. When I try to connect the battery to the controller, I get a loud pop and a spark. I am going red to red and black to black at every connection. I don't understand why it won't allow me to connect it. Im a little confused. So blue and yellow are powered. So what's the difference between the main power line and the small red line? Why does the switch curcuit need both wires powered? Shouldn't one go to ground?
Thank you for the video. I can’t find a diagram on this controller and this is a huge help. I am trying to figure out what the remaining 4 sets of wires are for that you didn’t cover. Do you know what the black plug with the red, blue, and black wire is for. Is that peddle assist? I took the controller apart to see if the board had any clues on it. The wires were labeled as Red=+5V, Black=TX, and Blue=RX. Are the orange and black wires going into the female 3 pin plug the low brake wires? The circuit is labeled BKL on orange and GND on black. Are the grey and black wires going into the two pin plug the switching wires for forward and reverse? Grey is labeled BACK and Black is GND. Is the purple wire an battery voltage indicator wire? It is labeled XC Thank you in advance for your help.

Thanks for the review. I was thinking of buying this motor, but im rather put off by how noisy it is. Most high quality BLDCs are nearly inaudible; would happily pay double for something more quiet for my project.... but its hard to tell from the aliexpress page how noisy it will be in practice I suppose.
I bought a 1000W bldc motor for my electric gokart project which was supposedly more than enough for the size and weight of the kart but the motor spins slowly even when the kart is kept off the ground (on a stand), how do I fix this?

Ok hopefully someone can help me with this. So im trying to build an electric bike too and i ordered a 24v 350w electric motor and a 22.2v lipo battery. The battery's connection is a xt60 plug and the motor has these a black and red wire with this golden thing on it to connect to a battery. Since the connections for both are different, I bought a xt60 to wire adapter so that i can plug the battery to the adapter, and the adapter to the motor. So to test it, i touched the adapters wires and the motors wire ends together and then there was a spark and a small fire. Can anyone tell me how to fix this?

Why not build a bracket and put the motor on top of the wheel behind the seat?. Now you can't peddle.
Why is it so slow?
Unfortunately, a much too small translation was chosen. The motor doesn't really get up to speed, runs with a miserable degree of efficiency and you hardly have any torque on the bike due to the lack of gear reduction.

Is there some limiter in the controller that you dont juice the battery completely low?
I've done a build like this, except I have 2 chains. 1 to the motor and 1 to the pedals. The wheel has 2 independent sprockets. So I can pedal assist the motor. You could point both your pedals down at the same angle to make better foot rests.

Just like always, When I get into a new project I buy a pre built first. I'm rocking the BBSHD. One year latter I am so tired of fucking with why they put a gear reduction on it, and for real the controller sucks the big one. I have the 3000watt version in my amazon cart but after watching your video, I think I will just get the 1800 watt. That throttle looks smooth as molasses!

Hello cant you have 2 chains ? The original one + the one for the motor ? So that way you can pedal as well. The original chain on the lowest gear and the motor on the highest . If anyone knows please reply.
